Lamar Odom Wants to Mend Relationship With Khloe Kardashian, ‘Rebuild Bridge’ to Her Family
The details of Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian’s rocky relationship were revealed in the retired NBA star’s recent tell-all memoir, Darkness To Light and, though the couple is divorced, he’s hoping that he can rebuild his relationship with his ex and her family.
Odom hopes to ‘rebuild’ after the damage
Throughout the promotion of his book, many Kardashian fans wondered how Khloe was dealing with having such intimate details shared with the world. It appeared that she and Odom were on pretty good terms as he noted during one interview that she had texted him in response.
During an interview on The Jenny McCarthy Show, he was asked how Kardashian felt about the book and he explained, “Um, she sent me a text yesterday. She good, she talked about one of the stories I told in the book. About her coming to the hotel and putting her hands on the girl. She said she didn’t even think I remembered that story.”
He called her text “friendly.”
As for how his relationship with Kardashian is now, he told McCarthy they communicate occasionally, sharing, “The next house I buy, hopefully, she can decorate it. They’re amazing decorators, they’re amazing homemakers.”
“She’s an incredible person and she’ll always have a place in my heart and be dear to me,” he added, calling her the love of his life. “She’s extremely courageous and tough and strong.”
Now Odom is taking up motivational speaking and hopes that being that open will help mend his relationship. He told TMZ Live: “Hopefully, me going to public speaking can even bring me closer to the Kardashians and help me rebuild that bridge.”
He doesn’t regret his time on KUWTK
When Odom and Khloe were together, he appeared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and he has no regrets about the brush with reality TV stardom.
Odom noted: “Doing reality TV and being married to Khloe, besides having children and besides me doing this motivational speaking that I’m going to start doing, that was the most memorable part and the best part of my adulthood. So, there’s nothing I regret about that.”
He’s now involving his two children, Destiny and Lamar Junior (from his relationship with his ex Liza Morales), in his motivational speaking work, sharing: “This is a great way for me to make up the time I lost with them and help them get better as well.”
Odom showed his love and appreciation for Kardashian
Odom explained during an interview with ET that he doesn’t “have much of a relationship now” with the Kardashian family since the couple divorced.
He also shared what he would say to his ex, saying: “I love you and thank you for being there for me when I couldn’t walk or talk. You know, when you marry someone after knowing them 30 days, I don’t think that love will go away. You know what I’m saying? A piece of paper that says we’re not together no more, that love will never go away.”
