Lauren London Breaks Silence after Boyfriend Nipsey Hussle’s Murder
Fans are still reeling after the death of rapper and philanthropist Nipsey Hussle. The rapper was shot outside of his clothing store, The Marathon Clothing on Sunday afternoon.
His longtime girlfriend Lauren London had been silent about his death until yesterday and fans worried about how the actress was coping with losing the love of her life.
She finally took to Instagram to express her despair.
London’s response to Nipsey’s death
On Tuesday evening, London shared several photos of her late boyfriend.
“I am completely lost,” she captioned the images. “I’ve lost my best friend, my sanctuary, my protector, my soul….I’m lost without you. We are lost without you
Among the pictures were photos of Nipsey alone, photos of him playing with their son Kross, and images of London and Nipsey together. Previously, London refused to share images of Kross’ face on her social media, but in her tribute to her longtime love, she left her child’s face exposed.
London and Nipsey had been together since 2013 when she started following the rapper on Instagram after buying his mixtape.
At the time, the rapper reached out to her through her DMs and the two began dating. They had been together for over five years at the time of his death.
Nipsey’s shooting
The rapper, born Ermias Asghedom, was just 33 when he died. The shooting happened in the West Slauson Avenue strip mall that he had recently purchased. Two others were wounded in the event.
Los Angeles Mayor, Eric Garcetti took to Twitter to announce Nipsey’s passing.
“Our hearts are with the loved ones of Nipsey Hussle and everyone touched by this awful tragedy,” he wrote. “L.A. is hurt deeply each time a young life is lost to senseless gun violence. My Crisis Response Team is assisting the families coping with shock and grief.”
Who shot Nipsey?
On Apr. 1, the Los Angeles police department tweeted asking for the
“The men & women of the LAPD have been feverishly working—along w/ the support of our community—to find the individual responsible for the murder of Nipsey Hussle,” the police department’s account tweeted. “Eric Holder represents a substantial risk to public safety & we are asking for continued assistance in locating him.”
By Apr. 2, Holder was taken into custody.
“Eric Holder, the suspected killer of Nipsey Hussle, has been arrested and is in police custody,” the Los Angeles Police Department tweeted. “Thank you to both our community for the heightened awareness/
During a briefing with reporters at a press conference on Tuesday, LAPD police chief, Michel Moore, told reporters that Nispey and Holder knew each other and had a “personal dispute,” according to reports from CNN.
Surveillance footage of the shooting has since been released. In the footage, Holder is seen approaching the rapper multiple times before coming back with a gun and shooting Nipsey.
Shooting at Nipsey’s vigil
Fans and residents of LA, alike, have been distraught since Nipsey’s passing. On Monday, over 300 people came together for a candlelight vigil outside of the rapper’s clothing store.
Unfortunately, someone at the vigil brought out a gun which caused the crowd to run, injuring several people in the panic.
