‘Law & Order: SVU’: Here’s If Danny Pino Would Return and the Two Shows He Stars in Now

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit‘s historic new season just welcomed a new series regular in Jamie Gray Hyder. However, is there a possibility that one of the show’s former series regulars, Danny Pino, ever return to the show? In the meantime, he also stars in two other shows that are currently on television.

Danny Pino stars in FX’s ‘Mayans M.C.’

Pino is currently one of the main cast members on the FX drama series, Mayans M.C. The series is a spinoff of the long-running television drama, Sons of Anarchy. J. D. Pardo, Clayton Cardenas, Sarah Bolger, Michael Irby Carla Baratta, Richard Cabral, Raoul Max Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo, and Edward James Olmos also star in the series.

According to the official series description from FX, Mayans M.C. “is set in a post-Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes, fresh out of prison, is a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Now EZ must carve out his new outlaw identity in a town where he once was the golden boy who had the American Dream within his grasp.”

In the series, Pino portrays Miguel Galindo, the son of  Jose Galindo, who is the leader of the Galindo Cartel. Miguel succeeds Jose in leading the cartel.

Danny Pino also stars in ‘Gone’

Aside from his role on Mayans M.C., Pino also stars in Gone. The show is an internationally-produced series from NBCUniversal International Studios. The series, which also stars Leven Rambin, Chris Noth, Tracie Thoms, and Andy Mientus, airs on WGN America in the United States. In the series, he portrays John Bishop, a new FBI agent.

Would Danny Pino ever return to ‘Law & Order: SVU’?

In 2015, the show’s executive producer, Warren Leight, said, “If you notice, I’ve brought [Richard] Belzer back. Munch came back once and we tried to bring him back this year, but there were some conflicts with it. [Dann] Florek came back. These people are part of everyone’s collective memory of the show. We brought BD Wong back. We brought Warner (Tamara Tunie) back. When we can, and when the story is right for it, I would love to be able to do it. If you kill a guy, it’s much harder.”

He continued, “One of the things that I regret more than anything, after I left Criminal Intent, they did away with [Eric] Bogosian’s character, Captain Ross, and there were a couple times in the last few years where I would’ve loved to have had Captain Danny Ross walk into the squad. We brought Kathryn Erbe back for a couple of episodes. I like that there are people who come with their own backstories whom fans have a relationship with. If we’re lucky, we’ll get to see Danny again next year. He has a home in L.A. and family there, so part of this is also a question about that for him.”
