‘Life-Size 2’ Cast: Is Lindsay Lohan in the New Tyra Banks Movie?
It may have taken 18 years, but fans of the 2000 movie Life-Size are finally getting the sequel they’ve been clamoring for. Life-Size 2: A Christmas Eve premieres December 2 at 9/8c on Freeform as part of the network’s “25 Days of Christmas” programming block.
The first Life-Size starred model Tyra Banks as a Barbie-like doll named Eve who comes to life to help a girl named Casey Stuart (Lindsay Lohan) deal with the death of her mother. In the sequel, Grace Manning (Francia Raisa) plays the 20-something CEO of the toy company that makes the Eve doll. She’s struggling with quarter-life crisis and plummeting stock prices, but her old Eve doll comes to life to help her get her life and business back on track.
Will Lindsay Lohan be back for Life-Size 2?
Tyra Banks is returning to play Eve in Life-Size 2, but will fans see Lindsay Lohan reprise her part as Casey? It sounds like she will, but don’t expect to see her in a starring role.
“There’s something beautiful we do with Lindsay in this movie that’ll speak to die-hard fans,” Banks told Entertainment Weekly in October. “I can’t say how, but you will see something!”
“[Lindsay] was filming her [reality] show, but she is in it somehow. There’s a little something in there,” Banks’s co-star Raisa confirmed to Access.
While Banks acknowledged that fans might be bummed not to see more of Lohan, she assured them the new movie would be just as fun as the first.
“I think it’s normal,” Banks said of fans who were disappointed Lohan might not be in the film. “It’s normal to have comfort, particularly with what you know, and the unknown is kind of fearful and kind of scary. [But] when [fans] see this movie, they’re going to be like, ‘Woah, this is a really good movie!’”
Why isn’t Lindsay Lohan in Life-Size 2?
While Lohan may appear in Life-Size 2, scheduling conflicts meant she couldn’t take on a larger role. The actress was filming her new MTV reality show, tentatively titled Lohan Beach Club. The new show, which will premiere in 2019, will follow Lohan as she opens a beach club on the Greek island of Mykonos.
The show will offer a “behind-the-scenes look at how a young, successful entrepreneur runs her empire,” according to a statement from an MTV executive. Lohan has two other businesses in Greece, a nightclub in Athens and a beach club in Rhodes.
What else we know about Life-Size 2
Banks, who worked for years to get a sequel to the Disney television movie off the ground, has said that Life-Size 2 is definitely designed to appeal to the first film’s original fans, who are now adults.
“It is a sequel, but there are some surprises,” she told Ryan Seacrest. “For one, the first Life-Size was for little kids … [this is] 18 years later and now it’s more adult, so Eve is experiencing more adult things like love and the person she comes alive for is Francia Raisa and she plays a 25-year-old girl so you can imagine it’s more adult themes.”
Tune in to Freeform on Sunday night to catch the premiere of Life-Size 2.
