‘Little People, Big World’: Amy Roloff Claims She’s Leaving Roloff Farms, but Is She Really?

Another season of Little People, Big World has come to an end, and we’re all hoping to see more of the Roloffs in future seasons of the show. While it all began over a decade ago with Matt and Amy Roloff living together as a married couple on Roloff Farms while raising their four kids, a ton has changed since then. Their kids have all flown the nest and the couple has since divorced. And on the season that just ended, major decisions had to be made regarding Roloff Farms.

Amy finally made it known what she wanted to do with the property, but recent reports now have us confused. Here’s what we know.

Amy Roloff finally made her big decision regarding Roloff Farms

We’ve been listening to Amy and Matt talk about the potential fate of Roloff Farms for this entire season. For Matt, it’s an easy decision regarding what he wants. He’s made it clear in the past that he thinks the best decision is to sell the farm altogether, as its upkeep has become a “burden” he no longer wants to deal with now that he and Amy are divorced. Not only that, but he and his girlfriend, Caryn, still live on the farm property in a separate house than Amy. There’s no doubt he wants a new life with his girlfriend apart from his ex.

Amy had different thoughts on the farm, however. On the show, she mentioned that post-divorce, the farm gave her “permanency, I had a place, I had something that I could hang on to, grasp, in order to figure out ‘I’m officially divorced.'” While Amy struggled all season long with whether or not she wanted to sell her portion of the property, Pop Culture notes she finally decided that selling her equity was best for her. “This farm worked for me because we had two people making it happen. I can’t do it on my own. Everything for me has changed on the farm,” she explained.

Sources claim she still co-owns the property with Matt, however

The decision to sell her equity was huge for Amy, and it was heartbreaking for fans as well. Many took to Instagram to beg Amy to keep her portion of the farm, as fans loved seeing it on the show and hoped her grandchildren would be able to grow up on it as well. The good news is that Matt and Caryn seem to be holding on to their part of the farm, at least.

Oddly enough, while Amy claimed on the show that she was selling her half, Radar Online reports Matt and Amy are still sharing the farm property today. The records obtained from the publication state that both Matt and Amy’s names are still on the deed to the property. And a 2019 annual report that was taken three months after the finale of LPBW was filmed also shows Matt and Amy having an equal stake in the Roloff Farms business. Perhaps Amy is waiting a while to really make the move on selling her portion, but it seems odd that she’s still legally connected to the farm.

Did she have a change of heart? Fans hope so

Could Amy have changed her mind post-finale regarding what she wants to do with her slice of the property? She made it known on the show that she thinks her decision is for the best, and even her son, Zach, thinks she made the right move. Pop Culture notes he said, “I think probably that’s the best choice. It will be harsh and quick, but then the road to recovery, I think will happen faster.” Unfortunately, fans are deeply saddened for Amy and wish she kept the property.

As one fan commented on her Instagram, “My heart breaks for you. I respect your decision but personally I would Hve stayed right where you are in that beautiful house [sic].” And another added, “Amy, I’ve never been more angry at what happened to you then I was tonight watching. This isn’t the way it should be- you know that and so so many of us.”
