‘Little People, Big World’ Fans Are Slamming Matt Roloff’s Girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, After the Finale
It’s hard to believe another season of Little People, Big World is over — and this might’ve been the most dramatic one yet. Matt and Amy Roloff began the show as a married couple, but in recent years, they’ve decided to divorce and move on as best as they can while still living on Roloff Farms property together. We’ve loved watching Matt date his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, and Amy date her boyfriend, Chris Marek, too — but it seems Caryn is rubbing fans the wrong way.
After the finale aired, it seems more LPBW fans than ever are on Amy’s side, as they took to Instagram to share how much they dislike Caryn. Here’s what they’re saying.
Amy Roloff finally came to a decision with her half of Roloff Farms
Matt and Amy own the Roloff Farms business together, and we watched their four kids grow up on the farm as well over the years. Sadly, their divorce threw a wrench in their business, as they found it difficult to co-own and live on the property together after a deteriorated marriage. For this reason, Matt was talking early on about how he was completely willing to get rid of the property altogether and start fresh with girlfriend Caryn. For Amy, however, the decision was never so simple.
“One of the reasons I stayed in the big house [is] because that was in my best interest going through separation, divorce, and I think I needed time to say that I had a permanency, I had a place, I had something that I could hang on to, grasp, in order to figure out ‘I’m officially divorced,'” Amy explained on the show. After grappling with her decision, she finally chose to sell her equity of the property. And while she’s sad about leaving her home behind, she knows it’s the right decision and is ready for the next chapter.
Amy’s made it known that Caryn Chandler has made her uncomfortable in the past
Amy and Caryn have a complicated past. Before Caryn was Matt’s girlfriend, she was employed by Roloff Farms for a decade and worked under Amy. And a past Facebook Live video that was recently unearthed has Amy explaining that she suspects Matt and Caryn had a romance going on even before the divorce. “And I believe — this is all from my perspective — that there was more than just friends going on. And I think that evolved to a point where that got in the way of our marriage as well,” Amy explained in the video.
Amy has also mentioned how Caryn makes her feel uncomfortable on the show. Radar Online mentions Amy once said of Caryn, “Matt’s worked with her for many many years. So that will always hurt to some degree. But it is something that I will have to be an adult about — doesn’t mean I have to accept it.” A source also told Radar that Matt seems to treat Caryn better than he treated Amy, which also makes her feel insecure.
Fans are slamming Caryn’s behavior
For much of the season, it seemed like viewers were on Matt’s side, as they also saw Amy as indecisive when it came to the farm. But after the finale, fans have changed their tune. Many recently took to Matt’s Instagram to share their thoughts about Caryn’s behavior — and they didn’t have many nice comments to make.
“You’ve always been my favorite Matt but I would tell Caryn to hold her jetts. This should be between you and Amy only. 28 years of marriage justifies that. Chris is staying out of it… Caryn should too [sic],” one fan mentioned. Others took issue with Caryn laughing at Amy on the show and making negative comments about potentially having to go to Amy and Chris’ wedding if they got married. “Ugggg at the comment that Caryn made about being invited to Amy and Chris’ wedding and saying if you were that would mean you’d have to go. I try not to take sides but comments like that make it hard,” another fan wrote.
It looks like Matt and Caryn are staying on the farm, so we’ll have to see what happens to Roloff Farms in future seasons of the show. There’s one thing for sure, however — and that’s that fans are hoping Amy is in a happy and healthy place now!
