‘Little People, Big World’: Has Amy Roloff’s Boyfriend, Chris Marek, Ever Been Married?
We’ve been watching Little People, Big World for 14 years, and Matt and Amy Roloff’s lives are totally different now than they were years ago. While the two were happily married for nearly three decades, they divorced awhile back and now are both in healthy, long-term relationships. And it looks like things are really getting serious with Amy and her boyfriend, Chris Marek.
Chris and Amy met at a single’s mixer event, and they seemed to like each other from day one. Now, fans are ready for wedding bells to ring — but it has us wondering about Chris’ past. Has Amy’s true love ever been married before? Find out here.
Amy Roloff said she’d love to get remarried eventually
It’s hard to believe Amy and Chris are fast-approaching their third year of dating. And they’ve even sparked engagement rumors in the past with an adorable photo shoot they did in front of the Roloff Farms chapel. So far, it doesn’t seem like Amy secretly has an engagement ring on her finger yet — but Little People, Big World fans are anxiously awaiting the day it happens for the star. And she’s even been more candid about the idea of remarriage lately.
As she recently told Us Weekly, “I would definitely love to get married one day. But it’s not something that I’m intentionally pursuing.” While she may not be pushing the issue with Chris, Amy also added, “If I say ‘yes’ then that means my whole heart, everything, is into it, ’cause I do take marriage very seriously and I do think it is forever.”
Chris Marek has also seemingly warmed up to the idea of marriage
As for Chris Marek, he’s relatively soft-spoken and doesn’t seem too emotional, so it’s hard to get a read on his true feelings while watching the show. And while some fans have had their doubts about whether he’s willing to commit to Amy long-term, it seems he may also be ready to tie the knot soon.
People reminds us Chris and Amy recently went on a camping trip with friends, and the subject of marriage popped up. “I’ve seen a lot of failed marriages, a lot of divorces, in my family. All my siblings, my mother,” Chris said. But he countered that with, “I mean, I saw a lot of examples of people that loved each other but could not live with each other. But I’m certainly not against marriage.” Amy seemed overjoyed to hear that, too, as she also noted that Chris being against marriage “would be a problem.”
Has Chris Marek ever tied the knot in the past?
Amy has already been through one failed marriage, and divorce has affected her more than she lets on. She’s getting candid in her upcoming autobiography, A Little Me, about some of the regrets she experienced post-separation from Matt, too. “I regret keeping a lot of my thoughts and feelings to myself instead of expressing them in a constructive way. I regret that I was on the defense a lot instead of being more proactive. I regret building a wall around myself …,” she said. While Amy may wish she could have done some things differently, she at least learned from the life experience and can move forward. But it seems Chris may not have the same level of experience at all.
Chris seemingly has never been married before. “I never thought I’d be this age and still single,” People reports he said on the camping trip, and he’s never mentioned any ex-wives of the past, either. A trip down the aisle with Amy could be a whole new milestone for him. Will he be open to it enough to propose sooner rather than later? Fans will have to wait to find out.
