‘Little People, Big World’: How Amy Roloff’s Boyfriend, Chris Marek, Really Feels About Ex-Husband Matt Roloff

We’ve been watching the Roloff family for years since Little People, Big World first began, and we can’t get enough of the family’s genuine and warm nature. It all began with Matt and Amy Roloff, a married couple with dwarfism who also have four children and a farm to take care of. We watched them navigate life together until recent years when they decided to go their separate ways in 2016. Now, Matt and Amy are still trying to navigate owning a farm together while they’re also dating and looking into the future with their significant others.

Amy has been dating her boyfriend Chris Marek for over two years, and fans are wondering if Chris and Matt actually get along. Here’s what we know about the complicated relationship.

Even after divorce, Amy and Matt Roloff still see a lot of each other

Fans of the show never imagined there’d be a day when Matt and Amy weren’t married, but the day has long since past — and now, the two are doing their best to coexist, which can make things difficult. People reminds us after the divorce, the two both still live on the farm property, though they’re in separate homes. And Matt even remarked on how difficult living so close to Amy was for him after the divorce. “Coexisting with Amy has its ups and downs. Still living 500 feet apart. You know, there’s good days and bad days and we just take it day by day,” he said.

While Matt lives in a separate house, Amy stayed in the family home on the farm, and their future as business partners might be limited. Matt has openly discussed selling the farm, and Amy has also hinted at the idea she might be ready for a move. Considering Matt’s girlfriend, Caryn, and Amy’s boyfriend, Chris, are often also on the same property with Matt and Amy, Roloff Farms might seem more cramped than ever before.

Chris seems totally fine and friendly with Matt

So, is there tension between Chris and Matt when all’s said and done? While the farm living situation might be uncomfortable, it seems Amy’s boyfriend and ex-husband get along just fine. Radar Online reports Chris spent some quality time with Matt following his two-year anniversary with Amy — and while fans assumed the two were embattled in a feud, that’s evidently not the case. As Chris told the publication, “In fact Matt and I just shared the day yesterday on the farm. Everyone is fine and doing well.”

It seems Amy may have been hesitant for Chris and Matt to spend time together at first, as Chris allegedly told Radar months prior that “Amy was concerned in the beginning about how Matt and I might interact.” Thankfully, Amy’s concern was quickly squashed, as Matt and Chris get along just fine. Chris even mentioned that 2018 was a great year for him and Amy, and that momentum for the happy couple seems to have carried into 2019 as well.

Amy doesn’t necessarily get along with Matt’s girlfriend, however

While there are no issues between Matt and Chris, it seems feelings may be more complicated when it comes to how Amy feels about Matt’s girlfriend, Caryn. Caryn met Matt by working on Roloff Farms, and Amy has mentioned in the past that it’s difficult for her to see Caryn around knowing she’s an employee who’s involved with her ex-husband. In Touch Weekly reports she said, “Caryn is an employee and in a personal relationship with my ex-husband, so it is still hard to invite Caryn to some of the family events. I’d rather minimize the personal interaction. It’s not healthy for me.” Not only that, but Amy also got salty when Caryn showed up to daughter-in-law Tori Roloff’s gender reveal party. “I think coming here to this particular event is an intimate family thing… It just throws a whole different dynamic to my life here on the farm,” Amy added.

Hopefully Amy has found a way to move past the negative emotions, as it seems Caryn and Matt are in it for the long haul and could be headed toward engagement.
