‘Little People, Big World’: Jacob Roloff’s Wedding Date Has Serious Significance
Jacob Roloff, the youngest member of the Roloff family, is set to wed his long-time girlfriend. The 22-year-old is the last of the family’s four children to get married. While Jacob has been mostly critical of the family’s reality TV show, he still wants to get married at the family business that started it all. In fact, it was seemingly so important to the youngest member of the family, that his wedding date has significant meaning.
When is Jacob Roloff getting married?
Jacob and his future bride, Isabel got engaged on Christmas Day 2017, according to Good Housekeeping. The youngest Roloff boy popped the question on a trip to Iceland, and she happily accepted.
They did, however, wait a bit to share the news with fans. It wasn’t until January 2018 that the couple confirmed their engagement. Now, their wedding date is getting closer. They are set to tie the knot on September 7, 2019. The entire affair will take place on the family’s expansive farm in Oregon. It is the same location that was used for years’ worth of Little People, Big World footage. The event, however, will not be filmed for TLC.
Amy is ensuring Jacob and Isabel can get married on the farm
Jacob and Isabel’s wedding date might seem like any other Saturday to the casual observer, but for those who are familiar with the familial strife, the date is important. In fact, the date was picked to ensure the entire event could happen at all.
According to Radar Online, Amy Roloff, Jacob’s mother, carefully constructed her agreement to move from the premises to ensure that Jacob and Isabel had time to hold their special event on the property. According to sources, Amy agreed to vacate the premises and relinquish control of a portion of the farm on November 1, 2019. She picked the date to ensure one last special event for the family would be held there. Allegedly, Matt Roloff, Jacob’s father was dead set against the idea of the wedding going down at the property. All three of the other Roloff children were married there, though.
Jeremy Roloff wed his wife, Audrey on September 20, 2014 on the property. Less than a year later, Zach Roloff married his wife Tori at the same location. Two years later, Molly Roloff followed in her older brothers’ footsteps.
Why don’t Matt and Jacob Roloff get along?
Matt and Jacob have been estranged for years, according to reports. It appears as though Jacob took his mother’s side during his parents’ painful divorce. Matt and Amy first announced a separation in 2014, but Matt had already been residing in the guest home for months at that point. The pair jointly filed for divorce in 2015, according to Good Housekeeping.
Allegedly, Jacob blames Matt for the divorce and also blames him for making him grow up on reality TV. The 22-year-old has been outspoken about the difficulty of being raised in front of cameras. For Matt’s part, it looks like he doesn’t agree with Jacob’s lifestyle or his choice in partners.
