‘Little People, Big World’: Tori Roloff Revealed Her Favorite Part About Raising Her Son, Jackson
Fans have been invested in the Roloff family ever since Little People, Big World aired over a decade ago. And while a lot has changed within the family since the show first began, we’re more interested than ever to see how each Roloff grows, adapts, and learns through their difficult times. Most recently, we watched Amy Roloff make the painful decision to sell her half of Roloff Farms to ex-husband Matt. But it’s Zach and Tori Roloff who remain fan favorites on the show.
Zach and Tori are busily raising their 2-year-old son, Jackson, as they prepare for baby No. 2. And while raising their first-born is certainly a challenge, Tori has also noted her favorite part about parenting her boy.
Jackon Roloff has achondroplasia, the same type of dwarfism as Zach
Jackson Roloff is absolutely one of the cutest members of the Roloff family, and at just 2 years old, we’ve loved watching him grow up on the small screen. He has the same type of dwarfism Zach and Amy have: achondroplasia. Heavy reports while Jackson was born of average size, his arms and legs will be disproportionately smaller while his head will be larger. Jackson should have an average life span despite the condition, though.
Zach and Tori had a 50% chance of having a baby with achondroplasia, as Tori is of average height. They were well aware of the risks prior to the pregnancy, too — and they’re completely willing to give Jackson as much aid as he needs. “The world is changing. People are more open to diversity. Whatever he wants to do, we’re going to find a way to help him do it. That’s our job in life now … it’s part of the whole package of who he is,” Zach told People.
Tori mentioned this is her favorite part about raising Jackson
Tori and Zach absolutely adore being parents. “Being parents, we love it. We both work with kids — I coach soccer, Tori was a teacher — and so we’re all about it. I’m all about kids,” Zach told Us Weekly. And when it comes to raising Jackson, Tori often records her real, down-to-earth parenting feels on Instagram. In a recent post, she even shared how it feels to have a child who is “different” — and she’s seen tons of fan support for her candidness, too.
As for Tori’s favorite part about raising her son, she explained in this LPBW behind-the-scenes clip that it’s hard to pick just one thing. Overall, though, she loves watching him become his own person as he grows from baby to toddler to child. “Getting to watch him evolve and grow every day has been really fun for me,” she tells cameras in the clip. Tori then mentioned that once Jackson hit 18 months old, he was starting to get “more interactive” and “silly.” “I love just like, the silliness and fun and … it’s just been really great to like, get to know him.”
Fans can’t wait for more baby Roloffs in the near future
As much as fans love Jackson, we all really can’t wait for Zach and Tori’s daughter. Tori announced her pregnancy on Instagram with the caption, “Zachary and I are so excited to announce that Jackson is going to be a big brother! We are expecting a sweet baby girl this November!” While Tori’s definitely excited for her daughter to arrive, she mentioned in another Instagram post how this pregnancy is much more difficult than the last.
She’s not the only Roloff who’s pregnant, either. Audrey Roloff, the wife of Jeremy, Zach’s twin brother, also recently announced her second pregnancy. “Baby #2 is coming in January!!!🎉 Ember is gonna be a big sister!” she captioned her post. And of course, LPBW fans went wild on both Instagram posts in the comments section.
Audrey and Tori maintain that they don’t actually plan their pregnancies around each other, either — but their timing is truly impeccable. Either way, we can’t wait to see more Roloffs running around on Roloff Farms in the future.
