Lo Bosworth Says Going on ‘The Hills: New Beginnings’ ‘Doesn’t Feel Like the Appropriate Choice’
Lo Bosworth has no plans of being on The Hills: New Beginnings, MTV’s reboot of The Hills in the future. Ahead, find out what she said about the show not being the “appropriate choice” for her. Learn what Mischa Barton hoped to get out of the show here.
Bosworth first appeared on Laguna Beach, MTV’s reality show about teens living in Orange County, Calif., alongside her good friend, Lauren Conrad (then known as LC).
After an incredibly successful run, Laguna Beach spawned The Hills, which led to Bosworth becoming a regular on the show with Conrad and others including Kristin Cavallari, Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, Heidi Montag, Whitney Port, Spencer Pratt, etc.
Last year, the network launched a reboot of The Hills with most of the original cast sans Cavallari, Conrad, and Bosworth. Cavallari reportedly turned down the show because of a contract the 32-year-old currently has with E! that states she can’t be on another reality show while filming her own reality show, Very Cavallari.
As for Conrad, she’s been focused on her brand, LC Lauren Conrad at Kohl’s, as well as other business ventures she’s launched since leaving the world of reality TV. Former co-stars have made it clear they don’t mind Conrad’s absence from The Hills: New Beginnings.
And Bosworth, she’s been open about why she never once thought about signing on for the reboot.
Why Bosworth thinks the show isn’t ‘the appropriate choice’ for her
Like Cavallari and Conrad, Bosworth is staying far away from The Hills: New Beginnings. Attending the #BlogHer19 Creators Summit, she spoke with Life & Style about the show and why she has no plans to join the cast.
“I’ve lived in New York since 2012. I haven’t been on TV in so long, and so the idea of opening up my personal life is not that appealing at this point,” Bosworth explained.
She continued, “I’m almost 33 and I go to work every day and I have an amazing team and people who rely on me. And so it just didn’t feel like the appropriate choice for where I’m at in life right now.”
Bosworth is the CEO of Love Wellness, a company that offers “natural, issue-specific solutions for women’s personal care,” according to the brand’s Instagram bio.

She doesn’t ‘want any association with any of those people’
This isn’t the first time Bosworth’s gotten candid about not wanting to revisit her reality TV past. She’s been open about keeping The Hills behind her and having a desire to no longer be associated with her former co-stars.
In an episode of her podcast, Lady Lovin,’ Bosworth talked about The Hills and the reboot, saying she didn’t want to be connected to anyone on the show, according to MTV.
“I don’t want any association with any of those people,” she said. “The disassociation from all those people is what I’m hungry for.”
“I think that there were some people on the show that have gone on to great success and we’re friends and I’m happy for them. There are others that I probably never would have in my life unless we worked together at one point. … They were all just my f****ing coworkers. It was a job. A j-o-b,” Bosworth added.
She’s got her mind made up. She won’t be going back, back to beginning with her co-stars from The Hills.
