‘Long Island Medium’: Does Theresa Caputo Plan On Getting Re-Married?
Theresa Caputo is back with a new season of Long Island Medium, and she’s not letting her divorce get in the way. Fans were worried for Caputo when they heard she and long-time husband Larry Caputo were splitting up. However, Theresa Caputo has since opened up about her amicable relationship with Larry after the split, her grief, and whether or not she can see herself re-marrying in the future.
Why the Caputos divorced
Fans were shocked when Larry and Theresa Caputo announced their intention to separate after almost 30 years of marriage. When it came time for them to make their announcement, the Long Island Medium couple released a statement to People.
“After 28 years of marriage, we have decided to legally separate. We will always love each other and our two wonderful children. We are united in supporting each other and our family. Please respect our privacy during this time,” the Caputos explained to People.
Theresa Caputo revealed that the couples’ busy schedules made it challenging for them to find personal time for one another, and that they naturally drifted apart. “I’ve changed and he has changed. We’re both not happy, and, you know, it’s hard to try to work through that,” Caputo explained during an episode of Long Island Medium.
“I think a lot of the frustration has to do with we don’t spend the time together anymore and along with that comes the lack of communication. So it’s like losing your best friend,” said Larry Caputo.
Grieving, but amicable
Despite their split, Theresa and Larry Caputo have worked hard to maintain an amicable relationship with one another. According to the couple, there aren’t any hard feelings — only the natural grief that comes with this sort of split.
“It was nice not to just, you know, text him or talk quickly on the phone, [but] to actually see him and get together, so, you know, we’re in a good place. We’re separated, but we’re in a good place,” the Long Island Medium told Access Live.
During an interview with Extra, Theresa Caputo addressed her relationship with Larry as they prepared for their daughter’s wedding. “Fantastic. We’re great, we’re planning … our little girl’s getting married,” she said.
However, Caputo is obviously still dealing with grief. Caputo told Us Weekly, “I’m grieving right now. I’m grieving my 30, almost 34 years, with Larry.”
“This is a grieving process, but things weren’t the same that they were 34 years ago. So, of course, I miss that aspect. But the way that things were at the end, no — I don’t miss that,” she explained.
Would Theresa Caputo re-marry?
When interviewing with Us Weekly, Caputo was asked if she missed being married. The Long Island Medium replied, “I do, but I don’t. I miss what once was.”
When the couple’s separation was finalized, a source told Us Weekly, “Theresa got married at a really young age and hasn’t really experienced life outside of Larry [and] being married. Theresa is now living life and exploring solo … she’s figuring herself [out] and it’s a whole world of adventure.”
Caputo later revealed to Us Weekly that she has been trying out dating. When asked if she’d ever consider marrying again, Caputo replied, “I never thought of it, and I have to say I don’t know. Right now, I would have to say no. I’m very content where I am in my life. I’m very blessed. Do I want to have someone to share companionship with and to have someone? Absolutely. But, to actually get married, I don’t know.”
