Long Island Medium star Theresa Caputo is getting ready to debut Season 14 of her show on TLC this month, and it sounds like there’s some pretty exciting stuff on the horizon for her fans. According to Caputo, there’s a segment coming up where she channels Spirit — as she calls her alleged contact the other side — for an entire day, without stopping.
While Caputo does have an exciting new season lined up, she’s made it clear that she’s also still grieving over her recent split from ex-husband Larry Caputo. Here’s what Theresa Caputo had to say about her 24-hour channeling and her recent divorce.
Larry and Theresa Caputo have a good relationship
In 2017, Theresa Caputo and Larry Caputo announced their intention to separate. In a statement to People, the two said, “After 28 years of marriage, we have decided to legally separate. We will always love each other and our two wonderful children. We are united in supporting each other and our family. Please respect our privacy during this time.”
The Long Island Medium star says that their busy schedules made it difficult for them to spend quality time together and that they drifted apart naturally as a couple. “I’ve changed and he has changed. We’re both not happy, and, you know, it’s hard to try to work through that,” she said on an episode of The Long Island Medium.
“I think a lot of the frustration has to do with we don’t spend the time together anymore and along with that comes the lack of communication. So it’s like losing your best friend,” Larry Caputo said during an episode.
Though the two are now divorced, they have maintained an amicable relationship, free of acrimony despite their split. “It was nice not to just, you know, text him or talk quickly on the phone, [but] to actually see him and get together, so, you know, we’re in a good place. We’re separated, but we’re in a good place,” Theresa Caputo told Access Live.
She later referred to her relationship with Larry Caputo as “fantastic” during an interview with Extra.
Theresa Caputo is still grieving
While the couple may be on good terms, its reasonable to expect Theresa Caputo to still grieve for the loss of her 30-year partnership with her ex-husband.
“I’m grieving right now. I’m grieving my 30, almost 34 years, with Larry.” When asked if she missed being married, Caputo replied, “I do, but I don’t. I miss what once was,” Caputo told Us Weekly.
The Long Island Medium star went on to add, “This is a grieving process, but things weren’t the same that they were 34 years ago. So, of course, I miss that aspect. But the way that things were at the end, no — I don’t miss that.”
Theresa Caputo delivers a 24-hour channel
Now, Theresa Caputo is getting ready to premiere the first episode Long Island Medium Season 14. And it sounds like there are big things in store. Caputo says she spent an entire day channeling Spirit, regardless of where she went.
“We did 24 hours without me turning off Spirit,” Caputo told The Wrap. “So literally from the second I woke up, I video’d myself with my iPhone. The second I came down in the morning, my crew was already waiting. I did not turn off Spirit, so literally every place I went, I was reading people left and right.”
“We went to a coffee shop, and they were like, ‘Theresa, you must have channeled like six people in this coffee shop.’ It was insane,” said Caputo.
According to Caputo, the episode sees her interrupting a variety of daily chores and tasks when compelled by Spirit to go up and talk to others in public, confronting them with messages from loved ones.
