The university issued a statement in response to the scandal
The University of Southern California released the following statement in response to the investigation, noting: “USC has not been accused of any wrongdoing and will continue to cooperate fully with the government’s investigation. We understand that the government believes that illegal activity was carried out by individuals who went to great lengths to conceal their actions from the university. USC is conducting an internal investigation. Donna Heinel and Jovan Vavic have been terminated and the university will take additional employment actions as appropriate.”
Further, the university shared: “USC is in the process of identifying any funds received by the university in connection with this alleged scheme. Additionally, the university is reviewing its admissions processes broadly to ensure that such actions do not occur going forward.”
Sephora and TRESemme dropped their partnerships with Olivia Jade
The fallout from the scandal has impacted YouTube star and Instagram influencer Olivia Jade, who had partnerships and sponsored content deals with a number of brands. Olivia Jade collaborated with Sephora last year on the Olivia Jade x Sephora Collection makeup palette.
A Sephora spokesperson confirmed that their partnership was ending, telling CBS News: “After careful review of recent developments, we have made the decision to end the Sephora Collection partnership with Olivia Jade, effective immediately.”
A TRESemmé spokesperson told CBS News: “TRESemmé is no longer working with Olivia Jade Giannulli.”
Hallmark Channel dropped Lori Loughlin
The Hallmark Channel has cut ties with Loughlin as a result of the college cheating scandal as well. The Hallmark Channel tweeted: “We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations. We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions featuring Lori on the Crown Media Family Network channels — including #GarageSaleMysteries.”
They added: “The series [When Calls the Heart] will not air this Sunday March 17 while we are evaluating all creative options around the When Calls the Heart series. #Hearties please keep checking back to our social for all updates related to the beloved When Calls The Heart.”

It’s being reported that Loughlin’s daughters will not return to USC, with TMZ.com explaining that they made the decision to withdraw because they believe they will be “viciously bullied,” a source told the site.
