‘Love is Blind’: Amber Pike Confronts Jessica Batten at the Reunion…And it’s Not Pretty
The Love is Blind weddings may be over, but Netflix still has one little treat for us and it’s the reunion. The show filmed over a year ago, so a lot has happened since we last saw our couples. Some people got back together, some are in new relationships, and some are still happily married. But most importantly, after watching the show, some people have serious issues with each other. Issues that are going to be addressed at the reunion.
How did the show end?
The finale had a few happy endings, but there were even more heartbreaks. It started out with Giannina Gibelli agreeing to marry Damian Powers but him refusing to do the same. This caused Gibelli to run out of the wedding venue and onto the street in tears. She was eventually able to come back inside and have a conversation with Powers. Since their wedding day, Powers and Gibelli have reportedly rekindled their relationship.
Amber Pike and Matt Barnett’s wedding day started on shaky ground. Barnett got cold feet and didn’t know if he could go through with the wedding. Ultimately, he said “I do” and the two got married.
Kenny Barnes and Kelly Chase were one of the strongest couples throughout the experiment. Leading up to the wedding, Chase was having a tough time seeing Barnes as more than a friend. In the end, she wasn’t able to go through with the marriage.
Mark Cuevas and Jessica Batten’s relationship was highly controversial as Batten never seemed to like Cuevas and was constantly pointing out things that were wrong with him. She left Cuevas at the altar.
The saving grace of the finale was Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed. The two had one of the most beautiful relationships of the season and both said “I do” at the altar.
Amber confronts Jessica
Pike and Batten were originally both competing for Barnett’s heart at the beginning of the experiment. Obviously, Barnett ended up choosing Pike but Batten wasn’t able to let go and was constantly comparing Cuevas to Barnett.
After watching the season, Pike was upset at how Batten acted towards her now-husband.
“To see [Jessica] throwing herself at him in Mexico? B*tch, you’re sheisty,” Pike says to Batten at the reunion. “You’re so fake, coming to my face like we were cool. You are so fake. I think you’re a very disingenuine person, and you know what? I hope seeing this, you do grow from it, because that is not what the world needs, is women that go behind people’s backs like that. You were engaged to another man that you were leading on. He was engaged. He made his choice.”
Does Jessica think she was wrong for how she acted with Barnett?
Since the show aired, Batten has seen the error of her ways.
“I don’t think it’s shown necessarily that I had a friendship for him and I was kind of looking out for him, which I definitely overstepped my bounds and I apologized for that,” she recently told Entertainment Weekly. “It was definitely interesting to see that play out and I’m glad that one didn’t work out in the end. We definitely weren’t meant to be together. And I’m super happy for him and Amber.”
