Love Island is already a summer hit overseas. Now America is getting its own version this summer. When does it premiere and will there be any changes to the format from the original series? Here is everything you need to know.

The U.K. already had Love Island showing a group of 20-somethings living together and getting coupled up. Every week they share a bed with their match and complete challenges. At the end of the week they get recoupled. In the end, the most voted for couple has a shot at winning money.

The episodes can be found on Hulu. Now America will be getting its own version. CBS released a press release about the decision to pick up the show, according to Entertainment Tonight.

“As the buzziest reality show in the U.K., Love Island has won the hearts of viewers across the pond as well as around the world, creating appointment viewing and fanfare for audiences everywhere. We are thrilled to bring our version of this cultural phenomenon to CBS,” said Sharon Vuong, Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming. “This fun, light-hearted series is like watching your favorite romantic comedy five nights a week!”

The couples will be staying in Fiji

The U.K. version has the couples stay in a Spanish villa. CBS will have the couples living in Fiji. The rest of the show sounds exactly the same as the original.

“Every few days the Islanders must couple up — those who fail to find a partner to couple up with risk being dumped from the island. Islanders are on the lookout for romance, but the road to love doesn’t always run smoothly,” read the press release. “Challenges abound with new Islander arrivals and dramatic twists as friendships and relationships form. In addition to choosing their partners wisely, Islanders must also win the hearts of viewers who have the opportunity to shape events on screen and ultimately crown one lucky couple the winner, who will then have the chance to walk away with both love and the cash prize.”

The show will premiere on Tuesday, July 9 at 8 p.m ET/PT

The American version of the show will finally premiere in July. It will then continue airing every weeknight until August 7.

The cast has yet to be announced and probably won’t be revealed until closer to the premiere date. However, the casting call shows who they were looking for when casting.

It called for “Young single guys to spend a summer in paradise searching for their perfect girl! Please include email and instagram in submission to be considered! Must be comfortable in a swimsuit on camera. Ethnicity: All Ethnicities” The call for women was exactly the same.

This version sounds very similar to the original show. Fans will have to wait to see if there will be anymore news before the premiere.
