Those who’ve kept up with Little People, Big World over the years know all about Jeremy and Audrey Roloff. The couple left the show a few seasons back, as they wanted to pursue their own businesses and tend to family matters. But they’ve caused quite a ruckus with some of their followers. And it seems some of Audrey’s posts are particularly inflammatory.
Audrey recently added a sweet post to Instagram about embracing everything that’s good in life. But she clapped back at a follower who thought she was ignorant. Here’s what happened.
Audrey Roloff gets a lot of flack from ‘Little People, Big World’ fans
If there’s any reality star from LPBW who’s under fire most often, it’s Audrey. The mother of two shares her life via Instagram and her podcast with Jeremy, Behind the Scenes. And the couple also has their book detailing their love story called A Love Letter Life.
Unfortunately, many don’t approve of Audrey and Jeremy’s book, as the couple offers relationship advice despite only being a few years into their marriage. And Audrey’s rubbed others the wrong way for a few of her parenting tactics and complaints in the past.
In a past episode of LPBW, Audrey called baby formula a sin. And she also complained about not being able to breastfeed her daughter due to bodily difficulties. Fans weren’t having it at the time, either, as they wanted Audrey to realize all of these difficulties were just a part of early motherhood.
Audrey created an Instagram post about choosing joy and gratitude
Jeremy and Audrey tend to post a lot about their personal lives and very little about what’s happening in the world at large. And Audrey’s at it again with a post she added to Instagram on Aug. 25. She added a photo of her with her young son as well as another post she didn’t write about looking for the good in life instead of reading every horrible headline that’s in the news.
“Sometimes, I just want it to stop,” the post Audrey added said. “Talk of COVID, protests, looting, brutality. I lose my way.” The post then continues on that people shouldn’t learn about the world through “printed headlines,” but rather through “the people that surround” us.
“I actually got a little teary eyed when I read this post,” Audrey noted in her caption. “Seriously, read it. I loved the perspective shift so much. I chose to write my own headlines today.” And she added a few of her own “headlines” that made her smile. “Mom enjoys slow morning cuddles with smiliest baby ever,” she wrote. “Husband reads bedtime story to daughter in funny accents.”
She clapped back at a follower who insinuated she was ignorant
Many followers adored Audrey’s sentiment, as it’s clear she wants to look for all the good the world has to offer instead of focusing on the bad. But others aren’t so sure about the post. One fan noted that they didn’t approve, as they think Audrey’s ignoring the big-picture issues.
“Yes… but also, this can’t be a total distraction to what’s going on. Ignorance is not bliss… #blm,” the follower commented.
To that, Audrey clapped back, “choosing to highlight joy and focus on gratitude does not equal ignorance.”
Another sided with the original commenter. “But when you choose to only highlight joy and focus on gratitude while not paying any mind (openly at least) to real issues at hand, whether they affect you or not, comes across as ignorance.”
It seems Audrey isn’t paying the negative comments any mind, though. We’re sure she’ll continue posting the content she typically posts, and those who take issue may not get any more responses from her.
