‘LPBW’: Matt Roloff Fled Roloff Farms as Soon as Pumpkin Season Was Over This Year
Roloff Farms pumpkin season is one of the most lucrative times of the year for the Roloff family, the stars of Little People, Big World. While Matt and Amy Roloff used to run the farm together, they’ve since divorced. Amy seemed to have helped out with pumpkin season minimally this year as Matt and his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, took charge and made sure the October weeks ran smoothly. But now that the season is over, it seems Matt’s already fled from his home state to the warm and sunny state of Arizona.
So, why did Matt leave Oregon so quickly following the season? Here’s what he’s said about Arizona in the past and what he recently posted.
This year’s pumpkin season recently ended on Roloff Farms
This past year has been quite hectic for the Roloffs, especially for Matt and Amy. While the two have been divorced for a few years and have both moved on with their significant others, Amy still resides on Roloff Farms property for now. And according to her Instagram, she was on the farm for many of the pumpkin season days — though she also mentioned she wouldn’t play as big of a role this year.
When an Instagram follower asked Amy why she wouldn’t be partaking in the festivities as much, she noted, “just not as much this year. It’s changed for me now and because I choose not to be a part of a confrontation that could have impacted others from an ultimatum that was said to me if followed through.”
It seems Matt took on most of the responsibility for running pumpkin season, then — though now, we know it’s come to an end for this year. There’s no doubt it’ll be back up and running for next season, though.
Matt Roloff has a second home in Arizona with his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler
Setting up for pumpkin season certainly requires a ton of work, and we can imagine the upkeep during the month of October as well as the cleanup also isn’t easy. And Matt has remarked on how difficult taking care of the farm can be, especially now that Amy’s moving off the property and helping less. “There’s part of me that wants to keep the farm and build a house that suits me, but part of me just wants to sell the farm and liquidate it and move on. It’s a burden,” Matt once said on an episode of LPBW, In Touch Weekly reports.
The farm isn’t Matt’s only home, either. Radar Online reports that he and Chandler have a second home in Surprise, Arizona, that was originally owned by Chandler’s parents before being signed over to Matt. And since Matt and Chandler have owned this second home, they’ve posted plenty of photos of them enjoying the Arizona sunshine on Instagram.
Is this a sign Matt would rather be in Arizona than Oregon?
Matt recently posted a photo of himself with his sister in Arizona once he was finished with his seasonal duties on Roloff Farms. “A soon as we wrapped up an awesome Pumpkin Season 2019 … Caryn and I were excited to get in some warm weather time down at our Arizona home,” Matt captioned this post. Considering the season just ended on Oct. 27, that means Matt spent merely a week cleaning up the property before heading out to warmer weather.
Is this post a sign that Arizona is where Matt would rather be? Perhaps so. We can’t forget that Matt once told an Instagram follower, “I would love Amy to buy her side of the farm and let me move to AZ full time. She’s scared to death of the work and attention it would take.” We know Amy sold her half of the farm to Matt, however, so as of now, it seems he and Chandler are taking on all the farm duties themselves.
There’s no doubt Matt adores spending time in Arizona, though. And if he ends up selling the farm (hopefully to one of his kids), then that would be the best-case scenario, as he’d get to take a step back while the rest of the Roloffs kept the farm legacy going!
