‘LPBW’: Matt Roloff Turned Off the Instagram Comments to His Birthday Post

While the last season of Little People, Big World ended a few months ago, we’re all excited to see what the Roloff family is up to next. And fans have the most investment in Matt and Amy Roloff. Matt and Amy began the show as a married couple, but they’ve since divorced and decided how to divide their family business and homestead, Roloff Farms. Now, fans are following both Matt and Amy on Instagram for regular life updates, and Matt seems to post a ton about his girlfriend and life on the farm.

Recently, Matt took to Instagram to share that it was his birthday. And while he typically welcomes fan comments and interacts with his followers, he seemed to shut off his Instagram comment capabilities for the birthday post.

Matt Roloff is quite responsive to his followers on social media

Matt Roloff has quite an active presence on social media, as he’s constantly posting photos of Roloff Farms, his kids and grandkids, and of course, his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler. And he doesn’t just post to Instagram, either. Matt’s also quite responsive to his followers and has taken to the ‘gram to comment back when they’ve said something out of line in regards to him or his family.

Recently, Amy published her memoir, A Little Me, which noted Matt was allegedly cheating on her during their marriage with Chandler. And a fan of Amy’s took to Matt’s Instagram post and wrote, “This lady was dating Matt when he was still married to Amy and she’s there for the money.” To that, Matt fired back, “You couldn’t be further the the truth [sic].”

Not only that, but Matt has also spoken candidly to his followers about Roloff Farms. He told one follower he’d love to move off of the farm property. And when the follower also accused Matt of pushing Amy out of her Roloff Farms home, Matt called that “the biggest crock of BS I’ve ever heard.”

He’s admitted to deleting mean-spirited comments in the past

Matt may indulge some fans with responses, but he also noted that there’s certain content he doesn’t allow on his Instagram. He posted a photo of his family back in April with the caption, “Most of you should know that I don’t have a hired gun to manage my social media accounts … everything that I post is from me directly… like everyone.. sometimes I’m in a more tolerant mood and other times not as much.” Matt then added that he doesn’t allow “four letter name calling (swear words) or unnecessary mean comments about Amy, or any of my family or friends.” He then added that he deletes users and comments he deems mean.

To counter the negative energy that started off the post, Matt then wrote, “I do allow spirited conversation and differing opinions especially about the show and what you see on TV because most of you are intelligent kind hearted people that understand we are a real family.. but we are sharing our life through the lens of a narrow TV camera.”

Matt turned off the comments to his Instagram birthday post

Despite telling his followers he doesn’t indulge in mean commentary, he still leaves his Instagram comments on. And while he has plenty of followers who share their support, he still receives rude messages, too. Perhaps he’s had enough of the mean text, however, as he turned public comments off on his Instagram post about his birthday.

“Today I am reminded just how blessed by God I really am. I woke this morning to a slew of text wishing me a very loved and Happy Birthday from my family and friends,” Matt started his post. He then added all of the people in his life he’s thankful for and that’s he’s “feeling very loved.”

After this post, he added another post featuring himself, Caryn Chandler, and his grandkids, Ember and Jackson. Oddly enough, the comments are turned on for this post.

We’re not sure why Matt turned the comments off of his first Instagram post about his birthday, but he seemed to get plenty of happy birthday wishes on his more recent post that allows for fan comments. We’re hoping he leaves commenting abilities turned on for all future posts, too!
