‘LPBW’: Report Finds Amy Roloff Is Still Listed as Working for Roloff Farms Despite Moving Away
We’ve been watching the Roloff family on Little People, Big World for years, and Matt and Amy Roloff’s lives have totally changed. The couple started the show married, but they’ve since divorced and moved on completely with other partners. And Amy made the major decision to leave Roloff Farms and find a new place with her fiancé, Chris Marek.
Now, Amy’s getting settled into her new place. But documents indicate she may not be finished with Roloff Farms just yet, as she was still listed as working on the farm as of February 2020. Here’s what’s reportedly happening.
Amy Roloff is nearly finished moving off of Roloff Farms and into her new place
Moving off of Roloff Farms wasn’t an easy decision for Amy to make. She made it clear she adores the farm, as it’s the place she raised her children with Matt. But post-divorce, she knew it was time to move on. And after a few years of living on the opposite side of the farm property from Matt, she finally found a new place to call her own.
Amy’s been moving since the end of 2019, and while she’s nearly finished, she still has major work to do to make the new place little person-friendly. “We definitely have a number of things to do before I officially move into this house,” Amy mentioned during Season 20 of LPBW. And she then told Marek that she likes “to be independent” and doesn’t necessarily want his help reaching everything in the home.
“Moving into this new house … it’s not as accommodating as the farmhouse,” Amy added.
Matt Roloff told an Instagram follower that Amy still owns part of the farm
Judging from what fans saw on the show, Amy sold her half of Roloff Farms to Matt and now has little to do with the farm property. But that doesn’t actually seem to be the case. Reports found Amy sold her half for over $600,000 before purchasing her new place for less, but Matt told an Instagram follower that he and Amy still co-own part of the farm in 2020.
“I don’t own the whole thing,” Matt explained. “Amy and I still co-own the North side. (Original farm with big house). I only own the south parcel. Hope that helps. I know it’s confusing.”
Matt then clarified again to fans that he didn’t force Amy off the farm property. Instead, she chose to pack her things and go, but she could’ve stayed in the big farmhouse.
“Amy didn’t have to move. She chose to move,” he added. “Amy could have stayed on the farm if she wanted too.”
Documents indicate Amy’s still listed as a farm employee
It looks like Matt wasn’t bluffing when he told his followers Amy still has involvement with the farm property. According to The Sun, Matt submitted an amended annual report for Roloff Farms back in February 2020. And it noted that Matt was the president of the business while Amy was the secretary.
So, will Amy maintain her secretary status? We’re not sure, as she hasn’t spoken out about any further developments with the farm. As for Matt, we know he’s talked about leaving the farm behind as well — but he’s also currently building a cabin on the property in preparation for Roloff Farms pumpkin season, which is the most lucrative time for the business.
“After a very productive 3 weeks back at the farm… logs are prepped for new cabin …,” Matt captioned his Instagram post on May 23.
We’ll have to wait and see what Roloff Farms has in store for the future. For now, it seems Amy may have more involvement than we thought.
