‘LPBW’: Tori Roloff Says She’s ‘Trying Really Hard’ to Love Her Post-Partum Body
Bouncing back after having a baby isn’t easy, Tori Roloff shared in a December 10 Instagram update. The Little People, Big World star gave birth to her second child with Zach Roloff, a daughter named Lilah Ray, on November 19. Giving birth has changed her body, she wrote in the candid post, and she’s still getting used to it.
She says she’s ‘trying really hard’ to love her post-baby body
In her post, Roloff revealed that she’d had a C-section. (She also had a C-section when she gave birth to her son Jackson in 2017.) Recovering from the surgery hasn’t been easy, she said.
“I’m trying really hard to love my postpartum body. It’s only been 3 weeks since growing and then birthing a human being, but it’s hard,” she wrote. “[T]here are jiggles in places that are honestly just hard to come to terms with.”
“Having major abdominal surgery is difficult for me because I hate being restricted,” she added. “I hate asking for help. I hate not being able to physically keep up with where my mental state is.”
Full recovery from a C-section can take up to 6 weeks, noted Parents magazine. Women who’ve had the surgery should rest and avoid too much activity in order to give themselves time to heal, notes the American Pregnancy Association.
Her message to other ‘bad ass’ postpartum moms: ‘Love yourself hard’
Roloff said she knows she shouldn’t be too hard on herself as she recovers post-pregnancy.
“I know it’s temporary. I know my body will heal and I will be back where I want to be,” she wrote. “It’s just the waiting that’s hard.”
She also had a message for other moms who’ve recently given birth: “For all those PP mamas out there. Love yourself hard. We all have our days and that’s okay. Our bodies are so insane and I’ve said it before- women are bad ass.”
“I thank God everyday for the family he’s given me. I’ll be here continuing to try and practice what I preach and love myself through this phase,” she concluded.
She’s getting support from her sister-in-law
After her heartfelt update, Roloff received a message of support from her sister-in-law Audrey Roloff.
“You’re a boss,” Audrey, who is currently pregnant with her second child, wrote. “Let yourself have all the rest and recovery you need.”
Other moms also chimed in to share their postpartum stories.
“I’m 4 months postpartum. I had a repeat c-section and still struggling with how my stomach looks. I totally get it,” shared one commenter.
“I’m 18 months postpartum and still all jiggly! I’m waiting for that magic pill to take away all my fat!!,” added another.
“My youngest is 7 yrs now and I’m still trying to learn how to love my body post-babies. It’s a rough struggle to learn not to be mean to yourself,” someone else shared.
