“I was shocked,” she said during an interview on Jenny McCarthy’s SiriusXM show. “I was, you know, surprised and not surprised in a way because I think that she is in a relationship that I don’t think she wants to bring around on the show.”

De Lesseps was seemingly referencing Frankel’s boyfriend Paul Bernon, who she had not introduced on the Bravo show. The cabaret star also revealed that she will miss some aspects of the former RHONY castmate.

“She’s a lot of fun. She can be really nasty. She’s very funny,” De Lesseps added. “Those are the people you kind of get up for in the morning, because they challenge you. I always held my own with Bethenny. [She] and I have always had this, up and down kind of relationship, and she’s not an easy person to manage. I just feel like, that part, I’ll kind of miss. It’s challenging. I found a kind of fun in it. Listen, I’ll miss her but at the same, time, when you’re around her, it’s like walking on eggshells.”

‘RHONY’ cast ‘relieved’ Bethenny Frankel quit

After Frankel announced her departure from RHONY, the Countess and Friends star said that the cast was relieved.

“I think the whole cast is relieved, in a way, and it also leaves breathing room for other women to shine and show their personalities because a lot was Bethenny coming in and kind of stealing the show,” De Lesseps said. “But guess what, she can’t steal our show. This season is amazing and I can’t wait for everyone to see the new season.”

Does Bethenny Frankel regret quitting ‘RHONY’?

It was back in August that Frankel announced that she was quitting RHONY for the second time.

“I have decided to leave the Housewives franchise to explore my next chapter,” Frankel told Variety at the time. “It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women. With the changes in modern culture, I want to highlight the strength, confidence and unstoppable power that women have.”’

Frankel is one of the most iconic housewives launching a whole lifestyle brand. As she moved on from the Bravo show to focus on her production deal, there were rumors she was regretting her decision.

“Bethenny had it made as the star of RHONY,” an insider told Radar Online. “She was the highest-paid Housewife, only worked a couple of days a week filming the show, and the producers were flexible with her schedule. All she had to do was show up and the network and producers handled the rest.”

“MGM  rolled out the red carpet for Bethenny in Hollywood and she debuted at the Emmys. But behind the scenes, she is questioning if all the stress is worth it,” the insider also mentioned.
