‘Lucifer’ Star Aimee Garcia Spilled Details About ‘God’ and How Her Character Finally Meets Him
To the delight of Lucifer fans, prayers have been answered. It appears that in the second half of season 5, we are going to learn a lot more about the Big Guy in the sky. [Spoiler warning: The following article contains details about Lucifer Season 5.]
God appeared in ‘Lucifer’ Season 5A
Lucifer’s dear old dad finally made a trip to LA during the first part of season 5. Although his appearance was brief, God, played by Dennis Haysbert, made a stunning impression. He took the form of a very dapper human and came to Earth to break up a brawl between his sons, Lucifer, Amenadiel, and Michael.
“Children, you know I hate it when you fight,” quipped the Big Guy to the trio of celestial siblings. Alas, that was the last line of the final scene of Lucifer Season 5A, leaving fans to ponder how the story will play out when the show returns.
Lucifer will confront unresolved issues with God in season 5
On the set of Lucifer, Tom Ellis spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the conflict simmering between his character and the Creator.
“They have huge issues, huge unresolved issues,” said Ellis. “Well, Lucifer certainly does with Dad, and Dad seems to be pretending that nothing’s ever been wrong and whatever, which of course winds Lucifer up. And he spends most of his time wanting his dad just to keep away from him. And then he has a sort of revelatory moment in this episode where he’s like maybe for the sake of other things in my life I should try getting along with my dad.”
Hilarity will ensue when the Big Guy mixes it up with Luci’s friends
While visiting the set of the show, Entertainment Tonight also caught up with Lucifer’s Aimee Garcia, who plays Ella, arguably one of God’s biggest fans. The actor teased that Ella will finally come face-to-face with the Divine Dad, and hilarity will ensue.
“What’s really fun about their first time is the episode where God for the first time becomes human,” dished Garcia. “So, it’s really fun because I’m in a scene where he experiences having to pee for the first time, having a brain freeze from a Slurpee for the first time.”
Garcia also teased an awkward exchange that plays out when Lucifer introduces her to his Father. The actor explained, “The first time I see him, [Lucifer’s] like, ‘This is my Dad.’ I’m like, ‘Oh my God.’ And he’s like, ‘Thank you for your support.’ And I’m like, ‘Huh?’”
Ella will remain clueless for now about the supernatural origin of Lucifer’s family
The list of humans who know that Lucifer is actually the Ruler of Darkness is growing. The latest mortal to get a glimpse of Luci’s Devil Face was Dan, who did not take it well at all. With Dan in-the-know, it appears that Ella is the only key player in the dark.
“Girl, for as smart as Ella is, she clueless. OK? She clueless,” remarked Garcia to ET. “I mean, she still thinks that Lucifer is just an unemployed actor who, like, clearly never gets a job.”
Garcia chuckled, “Oh my God. I think I even added something in where, you know, when Dennis [Haysbert], when [Lucifer’s] like, ‘This is my dad,’ I’m like, ‘Oh, adopted.’” Lucifer Season 5B is coming soon to Netflix.
