Luke Bryan Reveals What It Is Really Like To Go On A Date With Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani
Country music superstars Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton are such good friends that The Voice coach recently invited the American Idol judge to join him on a date with Gwen Stefani, and Bryan couldn’t help but reveal what it’s like to be the couple’s third wheel. While attending the American Idol: The Listening Sessions event earlier this week in Los Angeles, Bryan said that he and Shelton took the opportunity to catch up while having dinner at Craig’s restaurant in West Hollywood.
Stefani documented the evening on Instagram
The No Doubt frontwoman loves to give her fans a glimpse of her life with Shelton, and she often posts pics and videos on Instagram of the two spending time together at different places, like backstage at a show or on his Oklahoma ranch. Her night out with Shelton and Bryan was no different, and she documented the evening on her Instagram Stories.
Stefani posted a series of videos while they were all in a car, and Shelton joked that he was “trying to make Luke a little edgier.”
“It was just fun hanging with them, and anytime I’m able to see them having fun and being happy, it’s great to be around them,” Bryan told US Weekly.
Bryan called Shelton before joining ‘American Idol’
The Knockin’ Boots singer revealed that when he found out American Idol was interested in him being a judge, he called Shelton to get some advice. Bryan says that Shelton told him that he would love being a part of Idol because it was right up his alley, and Bryan admits Shelton was right.
Bryan explained that being a judge on the singing competition added a new element to his life, and by tackling something new he has had the opportunity to learn more about entertainment.
In 2018, Bryan joined ABC’s revival of the long-running Fox series along with Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, and Shelton has been part of The Voice since 2011. As fans know, it was also the place where Shelton and Stefani started their romance.
Now that both Bryan and Shelton are part of rival TV singing shows, Bryan admits they have a “fun competition” going on.
Shelton and Stefani Spent Easter Together
After more than three years together, the couple’s relationship is stronger than ever. Stefani and Shelton attended church on Easter Sunday along with her three boys – Kingston, 12, Zuma, 10, and Apollo, 5.
The family was all smiles when cameras spotted them out and about during the holiday, and Stefani looked stylish, as always. The 49-year-old wore a cheetah-print coat over a white turtleneck and black mini skirt, and she added thigh-high beige boots and fishnet stocking to complete the look.
Shelton kept things casual with a plaid button-up shirt, jeans, and suede shoes. Kingston and Zuma’s style appeared to be influenced by the country singer, with both boys wearing plaid shirts and jeans. But, Apollo opted for a beige jacket and shorts, along with a bow tie and cowboy boots.
An insider says that Shelton and Stefani have an unbreakable bond, and they couldn’t be happier.
Shelton and Stefani’s Romance is a Challenge For Gavin Rossdale
The happy couple loves to spend time with Stefani’s boys, but insiders say her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, is struggling with how close his sons have gotten to Shelton.
“It is challenging for Gavin to watch his boys grow closer and more attached to Gwen’s boyfriend Blake,” an anonymous source told Hollywood Life. “As Gwen’s relationship with Blake continues to grow stronger, Gavin struggles with how much quality time Blake spends with his sons, time that Gavin sometimes feels should be time that he is bonding with his own sons.”
The insider added that Rossdale appreciates that Shelton is a great guy, and he knows his sons enjoy doing country things like fishing with Shelton. However, the Bush frontman reminds his boys that he is their real father out of fears the boys could get hurt if Shelton and Stefani split one day.
Shelton has become a father-figure to Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, and an insider says he will be in their lives forever. The I’ll Name The Dogs singer has been married twice – his first marriage was to Kaynette Williams and his second was to Miranda Lambert – but he does not have any children of his own.
Shelton is taking the role of stepdad seriously and wants to be a role model for the boys. But he respects the fact that Rossdale is their dad, and the kids are happy and getting the best of both worlds.
