What is Marty Lagina’s company?

The Curse of Oak Island fans might know Marty Lagina as a treasure hunter, but searching for gold isn’t his number one priority. The entrepreneur and engineer owns a company that he spends most of his time — including in the summers when filming The Curse of Oak Island — focusing on. What is Marty Lagina’s company? He actually owns three companies: a winery, a wind turbine company, and a portion of the Oak Island Tours Inc.

Mari Vineyards and Row 7

Marty Lagina’s winery is called Mari Vineyards and is located in Traverse City, Michigan. With a background in engineering, Lagina dedicates a lot of his time developing new growing strategies for the winery and incorporates green energy, extra sunlight, and warmth (via tunnels under the vineyard) to grow grapes. Prior to Mari Vineyards, Marty Lagina owns a 3-acre vineyard called Row 7.

Heritage Sustainable and Terra Energy

In addition to growing grapes and making wine, Marty Lagina has quite the experience in wind energy. The Curse of Oak Island star owns a wind turbine company called Heritage Sustainable. Marty Lagina’s company is the largest wind turbine company in Michigan, and one of the largest in the Mid-Western United States.

In the 1990s, before Heritage Sustainable, Marty Lagina owned Terra Energy, a green energy company that converted natural gas from shale (one of the first of its kind). He sold the company to CMS Energy for $58 million and used the money to create Heritage Sustainable.

Oak Island Tours Inc.

Compared to his other businesses, Oak Island Tours Inc. is probably not Marty Lagina’s most profitable. However, he still makes a living from it. Together with his brother, Rick Lagina and other The Curse of Oak Island cast members (Craig Tester, Dan Blankenship, and Alan J. Kostrzewa), he owns 78% of the island. To bring in some profit, the company holds tours for Oak Island fans to get a sneak peek at what digging for treasure (as well as the history unfolding) on Oak Island is really like.
