Marvel Fans Are More Convinced Than Ever About This Avenger Getting Another Movie
Marvel fans are keen-eyed to connect dots to predict what’s next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Sometimes they’re spot-on and sometimes they’re less accurate.
A podcast Twitter account recently broke some interesting news pertaining to the MCU. The Murphy’s Law Podcast recently revealed that one superhero last seen in Avengers: Endgame might be getting another stand-alone film.
Backed up with their inside knowledge, the podcast claims a third Ant-Man movie is in the works. This is based on an LLC possibly related to the Ant-Man franchise.
Seeing this has led Marvel fans to believe it’s a definite future source intended to market Ant-Man 3. Of course, it’s just a theory, but everyone thought there definitely wouldn’t be a third Ant-Man movie any time soon.
The next ‘Ant-Man’ movie could start filming in 2021
Murphy’s Law Podcast — hosted by Charles Villanueva and Charles Murphy — reportedly heard from legitimate sources a third Ant-Man movie would start filming in 2021. This is still a long time away, and the movie obviously wouldn’t release until MCU’s Phase Five is well underway.
How the podcast managed to gain this knowledge is still unknown, yet other media ran with the story earlier this month. It’s always possible a podcast could gain inside knowledge others aren’t immediately privy to.
To back up this supposed insider knowledge, the podcast managed to find the above registered LLC called Pym Particles Productions III LLC as supposed proof a new movie is on schedule. However, until there are more official sources to use, fans shouldn’t raise hopes.
Murphy’s Law Podcast does promise some apparently future behind-the-scenes rumors about the Ant-Man film on their next podcast episode.
Is it possible to be duped about Marvel rumors?
So far, this podcast is the only source reporting a third Ant-Man movie is in the works. Outside of a few sources picking up on the story, we have to wonder if there’s a possibility of being duped by the Marvel rumor mill.
All the evidence you need is to go on Reddit and see all the high-flying rumors about the MCU on a daily basis. As the most powerful movie franchise in the world, there are probably numerous people out there who generate MCU fake news for either fun or to profit from.
In the world of fan-fiction, there are also many who want Marvel to do certain things that might not ever happen or at least for a long time. With this in mind, is it possible this podcast was misled?
We’ll only know once we hear what their official sources are. The better route is to look to past news about whether a third Ant-Man is in the works and extrapolate what the cast members said.
Marvel did promise more Ant-Man at the end of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’
Remember the post-credits scene at the end of Avengers: Infinity War saying Ant-Man and the Wasp will return eventually? Everyone took this as a Marvel promise, despite Paul Rudd coming forward last year to say nothing was definite.
A whole year has passed since he said this. Some of the cast have also said it’s out of their hands and it’s up to Marvel. Further, you can just go by the logic of a new Ant-Man film being done eventually considering it made $620 million worldwide at the box office.
We’ll all be interested to hear whether the source on the above story comes directly from someone within Marvel or just some outside source passing on hearsay. At least we can say there’s all probability there will be a new film at an indefinite, far-off date.
For many Marvel fans, the thought of it not being out until 2022 (or later) seems like an eternity. With time moving at sonic speed, fans will probably be searching out rumors about a fourth Ant-Man movie before the post-credits scene.
