Massive ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Spoilers Revealed in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Trailer
Marvel fans are still riding the highs and lows of Avengers: Endgame and now the newest Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer is here to take you on a ride all over again. Since Spider-Man: Far From Home picks up following Endgame, it was hard for the trailer not to include some Avengers: Endgame spoilers.
Tom Holland gives a spoiler alert warning
If you’re dying to see the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer but you haven’t (gasp) seen Avengers: Endgame yet, star Tom Holland introduces the trailer by giving fans a spoiler alert warning.
He shares: “The Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer is about to play. But if you haven’t seen Avengers: Endgame yet, stop watching, because there’s some serious spoilers about to come up. But if you have seen Avengers: Endgame, enjoy the trailer.”
No one can complain that they weren’t warned.
Avengers: Endgame spoilers in Spider-Man: Far From Home
Holland wasn’t kidding, as the trailer immediately begins in the wake of Avengers: Endgame’s saddest plot point: the death of Iron Man, who sacrificed himself in order to defeat Thanos and save the universe.
That means there’s an Iron Man sized hole in the universe, but can Peter Parer fill it?
In the trailer, Spider-Man tells Happy Hogan ( Jon Favreau), “Everywhere I go, I see his face. I just really miss him.”
Happy responds, “I miss him too,” adding, “I don’t think Tony would have done what he did if he didn’t know that you were going to be here after he was gone.” No pressure.
Spider-Man wraps up phase 3
Spider-Man: Far From Home is the final film in MCU’s Phase 3 and there’s sure to be plenty of ground to cover. Spider-Man just wants to go on a European vacation, for one thing, even sending a pesky phone call from Nick Fury to voicemail. Happy notes: “You sent Nick Fury to voicemail? You do not ghost Nick Fury.”
Fury, of course, tracks Parker down and, when he asks if Captain Marvel or Thor can help save the world instead of him, Fury quips: “Bitch, please. You’ve been to space.”
The trailer also introduces Quentin Beck/Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), confirming he’s from another world, with Fury noting: “Beck is from Earth, just not ours. The Snap tore a hole in our dimension,” creating a multiverse.
Is your mind blown yet?
Mysterio is trying to fight off the Elementals and Parker is beyond distracted, saying, “I wanna go back on my trip with the girl who I really like and tell her how I feel.”
What’s next in the MCU?
While some fans expected Avengers: Endgame to be the last movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 3, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that Spider-Man: Far From Home is the last film of the phase.
Feige told a reporter at a fan event for Avengers: Endgame in Shanghai: “It’s [Spider-Man: Far From Home] the end of the third phase. You’re the first person I’ve told that to.”
The first Avengers movie marked the end of the MCU’s Phase 1 and Phase 2 ended with Ant-Man. No official announcements about Phase 4 have been made, but should be coming soon.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is in theaters on July 2.
