Matt Damon Has 4 New Tattoos For the Sweetest Reason

Matt Damon is an actor known for his role in many popular movies, such as the Bourne franchise, Good Will Hunting, The Departed, and The Martian. One thing he is not known for, though, is having his body inked. Damon recently revealed that he just got not one but four brand new tattoos! These tattoos are also very meaningful for the 48-year-old actor. Read on below to find out what exactly they signify.

Damon’s four new tattoos are actually all related to each other. They are the names of his four daughters: Alexia (b. 1998), Isabella (b. 2006), Gia (b. 2008), and Stella (b. 2010). The names of Damon’s daughters can be found on the movie star’s forearms above his “Lucy” tattoo that he got some time ago for his wife.

The new tattoos were all done by Daniel Winter — also known as Winter Stone — who has worked with many other celebrities as well, such as Lady Gaga, Ayesha Curry, Miley Cyrus, and Joe Jonas. It was Winter who revealed Matt Damon’s tattoos to the whole world on his Instagram account.

It’s clear that Damon’s family is very important to him, and many people are no doubt wondering who the five ladies in question are. Damon has been married to his wife, Luciana Bozán Barroso, for almost 15 years.

The couple met by chance in 2003 when Damon was filming a movie in Miami, where Barroso was working as a bartender. Looking back, it was almost fate that they encountered each other. Damon was originally supposed to film in Hawaii, but the set was later moved to Miami. On the night that he met Barroso, the actor actually did not want to go out, though he was dragged to a bar by a few crew members.

“I don’t know how else our paths would’ve crossed if that didn’t happen – if all those things didn’t happen,” Damon once shared with Ellen DeGeneres.

The two of them eventually got married in 2005 and Damon became a stepfather to Barroso’s daughter, Alexia, from her past marriage. Even though Alexia is not related to Matt Damon by blood, it is clear by his tattoos that he definitely thinks of her as his daughter. Barroso’s ex-husband has even said that Damon is “a phenomenal stepfather” and that he “treats Alexia like she is his own flesh and blood.”

Aside from Alexia, Damon and Barroso have three daughters of their own.

For those who are curious about how Matt Damon’s daughters are growing up, it will be hard to find much information about them since Damon intends to keep his family life very private. He has shared that he wants his daughters to grow up being open-minded, worldly citizens who have “understanding for different perspectives and different ways of living,” but not much else is known about Damon’s four children.

Will Matt Damon get any more tattoos?

Damon’s tattoos of his daughters’ names are no doubt heartwarming and meaningful. However, it’s unlikely that the actor will cover his whole body in ink anytime soon.

When his good friend Ben Affleck got a giant back tattoo last year, Damon commented: “It’s not one man’s job to tell another man what he can do to his back. I support him in all of his artistic expression.”

He also hinted at a bit of disapproval. “Unfortunately I can’t seem to shake him,” Damon said. “I’ve known him since I was 10, so it’s 37 years.”
