The 1975 released the latest song off of ‘Notes on a Conditional Form’

Hot off of the heels of their 2019 release, A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships, The 1975 is back with another single off of their upcoming album, Notes on a Conditional Form. “Me & You Together Song” premiered on Jan. 16, 2020, and already, earned over 2 million plays on the streaming platform Spotify.

Unlike earlier releases, (and clearly politically-charged music videos,) Pitchfork notes, “The song is wholly inoffensive, and maybe that’s the point. It offers a false peace, a lull that lasts as long as the synthetic snow falls inside the glass.”

This song touches on the idea of romance from a “coming of age” perspective, and how the narrator has been in love with her “for ages.” After the song dropped and The 1975 performed it live for BBC Radio 1, some fans shared their response on social media.

Since the premiere of “Me & You Together Song,” some fans took to social media, sharing their love for this single.

“Not a single Oscar nomination for the 1975’s ‘Me and You Together Song’… just because ‘it came out yesterday’ and ‘it’s not a film’… disgusting,” joked one Twitter user.

“Someone better start writing that coming of age movie with ‘Me and You Together Song’ as the soundtrack because SIR The 1975 stans are WAITING,” another Twitter user wrote.

“Having a bad day? Listen to Me and You Together Song. Having a good day? Listen to Me and You Together Song. Stressed? Listen to Me and You Together Song. Don’t know how to feel? Listen to Me and You Together Song. Just listen to Me and You Together Song,” said another Twitter user.
