Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Have Really ‘Disappointed’ Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family
News about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has really been dominating the headlines lately. It seems that no matter what the couple does, it attracts the interest of millions of people, whether it be something as simple as Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry having lunch at a local pub or something more significant such as their holiday plans.
Many fans are well aware of the fact that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been having a pretty hard time in recent months, with Duchess Meghan, in particular, feeling as if she is constantly being attacked in the media. Things have gotten so out of hand, in fact, that the royal couple has stepped away from their duties for a few weeks so that they can have the time to spend out of the spotlight.
It seems to be somewhat working in their favor, and they were noticeably absent when the rest of the royal family made their annual church appearance on Christmas day. However, we have recently discovered that the family isn’t exactly happy. So, how is it that Markle and Prince Harry have really disappointed Queen Elizabeth and the royal family?
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are receiving too much negative attention
When Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry got engaged, chances are, she knew that her life would never be the same again. She went from being an actress to suddenly becoming much more famous and constantly being followed by photographers.
Almost overnight, every move that Duchess Meghan made was being criticized. And she had virtually no privacy whatsoever.
It definitely became more than she could handle, with Fox News reporting that although the duchess knew that royal life wouldn’t be easy by any means, she thought that it would be much fairer. At one point, Prince Harry expressed concern for his wife and addressed issues regarding her safety.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are taking time away from the spotlight
Just about everyone takes a huge interest in all that the royals do. While this is an inevitable part of royal life, it can really take its toll after a while.
Shortly after they got married, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went so far as to move away from Kensington Palace in order to escape the spotlight of London. They felt that they could have a quieter life in Windsor, yet things aren’t exactly working out as planned.
In recent months, it was even being rumored that Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry were planning to leave the United Kingdom altogether. While this hasn’t happened yet, there is really no way to know what is being discussed behind closed doors, or what will happen in the future.
According to Vanity Fair, the couple took a much-needed break over the holiday season in order to spend some time together as a family and escape the media circus that has been surrounding them for months on end.
How have Meghan Markle and Prince Harry disappointed Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royals?
Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are doing what they feel is best for themselves and their young son, Archie Harrison, so why are the queen and the rest of the family feeling a bit disappointed with them? According to Cosmopolitan, it is because of the fact that they didn’t spend Christmas with the rest of the royals.
Why is this such a big deal? Well, the queen is getting older, as everyone knows. It is true that Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry wanted to spend the holidays with Duchess Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. And that’s a totally fair thing for them to do.
That said, it is no secret that Ragland is on good terms with the royals and more than likely welcome to spend the holidays with them. The family feels that Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry should have been at Sandringham — especially on Baby Archie’s first Christmas — and are sad that they decided to do otherwise.
