Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Just Shared a Huge Baby Archie Update

Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first son, Archie Harrison, all eyes have been on the Sussex family waiting to hear the latest. As expected, fans are constantly wondering how Archie is doing, if he is reaching certain milestones, and even if he will be getting a little brother or sister anytime soon.

However, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are a notoriously private couple, and they are doing what they can to shield Baby Archie — as well as themselves — from the spotlight. Even details of Duchess Meghan’s pregnancy were kept under wraps: No one knew her exact due date, or even where she would give birth when the time came.

After Archie was born, his parents made it pretty clear that they were going to do their best not to subject him to the pressures of royal life and let him decide on things for himself. All of this doesn’t stop fans from constantly wanting to know more about Archie.

And, as it turns out, it looks like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have given us just that. Let’s discuss the Baby Archie update that Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry just shared.

As members of the royal family, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry don’t have as much privacy as they would like. After all, it is not as if they can just step out for a day of family fun without being followed and photographed by hundreds, if not thousands of people.

All of this attention and pressure has really gotten to them over the past few months. And, according to Today, they left Kensington Palace in favor of a quieter life in Windsor ahead of Archie‘s birth.

However, we all know that making that move didn’t give them as much privacy as they had originally wanted, and 2019 wasn’t exactly their best year. Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry came under fire in the media for a number of things, and they have even gone so far as to admit that they aren’t exactly happy with royal life at the moment.

This week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they are going to transition out of their senior royal roles. They also plan to divide their time between the U.K. and North America.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan said in a statement: “We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.”

Fan’s don’t see much of Baby Archie

When Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed each of their three children, a countless number of fans camped outside of the hospital just waiting for the new parents to make an appearance. This seems to be royal tradition, since Prince Charles and Princess Diana did the same with their children, and so did Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

Never one to let anyone tell them what to do, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry made it clear that they would not be posing on the hospital steps with their newborn immediately after the birth. They kept all of the details as secret as they could. Millions of fans wondered if Duchess Meghan would have a home birth, who would be present, and when they would introduce their child to the world.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just shared a huge baby Archie update

Although we have been treated to photos of Baby Archie on occasion, it is not very often that we get to see him or hear the intimate details of how he is doing. We know Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are sticking to their decision to raise their son privately and give him as normal a life as they can.

So, what is the huge and pleasantly surprising update that they just shared? As the new year rolled in, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry treated us to a brand new photograph of Archie on their Instagram page.

Baby Archie is seen wearing UGG booties — the pair was gifted to the couple during their Australia tour. Archie is also seen sporting a pom-pom hat from Make Give Live, a New Zealand-based social enterprise that donates a hat to a Kiwi in need for every hat purchased.

It is exactly what fans have been waiting for, and it is wonderful to see just how well the new royal is doing, and how strongly he is bonding with his parents.
