Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are officially engaged. The couple has been dating for the past 18 months, and officially announced their impending nuptials in late November 2017.
The couple met in 2016, introduced by mutual friend Markus Anderson while at Wimbledon watching Serena Williams kick ass. Since then, the couple has been going strong, even resulting in the prince to ask the press to stop hounding Markle. He also confronted reporters about making racist remarks about her.
Despite it all, the couple has persevered, and now wedding bells will be ringing soon. In fact, it seems the actress and her prince might already have a wedding date.
Long before the Prince of Wales was introduced to the stunning actress, he was obsessed with her Suits character Rachel Zane. In When Harry Met Meghan: A Royal Romance, royal expert Katie Nicholl said,
He had a crush on Rachel Zane two years before he met Meghan and the reason I know is because I was having drinks with one of his friends. She told me she’d been on a night out with Prince Harry. He was single at the time, so she said, “Harry, who’s your ideal girl?” And he said “Meghan Markle from Suits.”
Though Markle and Prince Harry have been official for well over a year, the pair just went public this past Sept. at the Invictus Games, which were held in Toronto. The annual games allow wounded, injured, or sick armed services personnel and their associated veterans to take part in a series of sporting events.
The duo even packed on the PDA for the camera.
Romantic nights in
In between filming Suits in Toronto, Markle travels across the pond to visit her 33-year-old prince. Apparently, the couple spends time near Kensington Palace.
The prince showers his 36-year-old lady love with sweet treats and toys from a nearby shop. Markle adores Reese’s Pieces, coconut water, curry sauce, and fuzzy purple toys.
A meeting with the queen
If there is one person who will need to give their approval for Markle and Prince Harry’s marriage, it’s the Queen of England. The Suits actress recently met her beau’s grandmother over tea.
Christmas with the royal family
It appears that Markle passed the tea test with flying colors because the British royal family has invited her to spend the holidays with him. The queen reportedly asked her if she’d like to join the Windsors for dinner. Though the invitation reportedly “thrilled” the actress, she didn’t want her mother Doria, who lives in Los Angeles, to spend Christmas alone.
Luckily, Duchess Kate Middleton has stepped in with a solution. A source told Mirror UK that Middleton has “offered to put Doria up in a guest bedroom at Anmer Hall.”
Markle wrapped up her seventh and final season of the hit USA series Suits. Though the show will continue and Gina Tores will be stepping into her own spinoff, Markle’s time on the series has come to an end.
Like with Adams, Suits also helped put establish Markle as a TV star. Her character on Suits Rachel Zane had been closely linked with Adams’ Mike Ross since Day 1, so an exit of Markle alongside Adams would make sense. Rachel and Mike currently engaged, with Suits creator Aaron Korsh teasing that their wedding may be coming in the upcoming Season 7 episodes. For the past year or so, Markle has been in a relationship with the British Prince Harry while continuing to work on Suits.
Save the date
We might see Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding even sooner than we might have thought. The palace has confirmed the lavish wedding will take place in spring 2018.
We just hope the entire glorious event is televised, whenever it happens!
