Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Sussex Royal Still Up and Running, Despite Queen Elizabeth’s Ban

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s continued use of Sussex Royal has left fans puzzled. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were supposed to shut down their Sussex Royal account once their exit from the royal family became official. Instead, the two have yet to close the Instagram page, leading some to wonder when they plan on taking it down.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle agree to drop their royal titles

At the start of the year, Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, announced their plan to leave the monarchy and move to North America. The announcement shocked royal watchers around the world and the couple spent weeks negotiating their exit with senior members of the royal family.

As a result of those meetings, the Sussexes agreed to stop using their HRH titles. This meant closing down their popular Sussex Royal Instagram page and coming out with a new brand that did not contain the word “royal.”

According to Express, a palace spokesperson released a statement in February confirming Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to drop Sussex Royal.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use ‘SussexRoyal’ in any territory post-spring 2020,” the statement revealed.

Harry and Meghan would go on to appear in a handful of public engagements before their exit from the royal family became official on March 31. Days before their exit date, the couple released a farewell statement on Instagram, and royal watchers expected the account to disappear.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not shut down Sussex Royal

Despite their previous statements, Harry and Meghan have yet to delete their Sussex Royal Instagram account, which has over 11 million followers.

In their final address, the Sussexes thanked fans for their continued support and revealed that they are now focused on helping out people affected by the coronavirus pandemic. They also noted, “While you may not see us here, the work continues.”

“Thank you to this community – for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great!” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle added.

Based on their final comment, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before Harry and Meghan deleted Sussex Royal and launched their new Instagram endeavor, Archewell. But a month has passed since their last post and the account is still active.

We do not know what Harry and Meghan plan on doing with Sussex Royal. The two have not commented on their plans for the account, so fans will have to wait and see how this one shakes out.

A new biography sheds light on Megxit

Harry and Meghan are currently living in Los Angeles with their one-year-old son, Archie Harrison. Although the two have remained fairly mum about their exit, a new book claims to reveal more information about their time as royals.

According to Page Six, the upcoming tell-all biography, Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, features interviews with Harry and Meghan right before they moved to North America.

Dey Street Books is publishing the book and just released a statement that revealed the project “goes beyond the headlines to reveal unknown details of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s life together, dispelling the many rumors and misconceptions that plague the couple on both sides of the pond.”

The book is scheduled to be released on August 11. The announcement comes days after Meghan suffered a setback in her lawsuit against several British tabloids for publishing personal letters she sent to her father, Thomas Markle.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle love this photo of themselves

While the Sussexes are keeping a low-profile in LA, sources claim that they are “really happy” with how one of their recent photos turned out.

The photo in question was taken on a rainy evening in London when the couple appeared for one of their final royal outings. The two attended the 2020 Endeavour Fund Awards in March when a photographer snapped a photo of them holding an umbrella in the rain.

According to Harpers Bazaar, the photographer that took the image, Samir Hussein, says that Harry and Meghan absolutely love it.

“The picture that I took of Harry and Meghan in the rain recently, I’ve never had a reaction to a picture like that one. In terms of the reaction I’ve had from people, that’s got to be the most iconic from that point of view,” Hussein shared. “I spoke to some of their team and they were really happy about it and talking about it.”
