Meghan Markle Secretly Took Baby Archie To New York City

Meghan Markle might be struggling in the spotlight, but the Duchess of Sussex has been careful not to put her infant son in the same predicament. Since Markle gave birth to her and Prince Harry’s first child, Archie Harrison, we’ve only seen the red-headed tot a handful of times.

Since the little one was born on May 6, 2019, the public has only seen the royal baby in his first few days of life, at his christening and during his parents’ royal tour in South Africa. During the trip, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex introduced their little one to Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

However, just because Markle and Prince Harry aren’t showcasing Archie at all times, doesn’t mean that the little one hasn’t been living his best life and traveling the globe with his parents. It turns out that the duchess secretly brought the tiny royal to New York City for a quick visit in September 2019.

Inside Meghan Markle and Baby Archie’s secret visit to New York City

In early September 2019, the Duchess of Sussex took a quick trip to the Big Apple to cheer on her best friend, Serena Williams, at the US Open. Markle was happy and all smiles, watching the tennis legend advance in the competition. However, because the press and public are notoriously ruthless when it comes to her, Markle was mom-shamed for seemingly leaving her then 4-month old son back in the United Kingdom. It turns out that Archie was with his mom the whole time.

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Williams shared that her royal BFF brought baby Archie along for the tournament festivities. The tennis icon gushed,

I just really think she’s the strongest—literally the strongest—person I know, and the nicest, sweetest. She flew all the way with a newborn to see me play in New York and flew all the way back that night, and I probably couldn’t have done that. It goes to show you what an amazing person she is, and that’s just one of the many things that she does for me. I call her, text her anytime crying, upset, and she’s there. Doesn’t matter what she’s going through, she sets time away, and she’s so amazing.

We absolutely love women who adore other women.

Archie Harrison has changed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage

A baby changes the game for anyone, but Archie’s birth was a massive shift for the duke and duchess who were trying to find their footing in the limelight while modernizing the royal family.

An insider told US Weekly, “There were times [in the beginning when] they’d bicker over the smallest things because they were so tired,” they explained. Thankfully Archie Harrison is now sleeping through the night. “There’s less strain on the marriage,” the source added. “They can finally enjoy some ‘couple time’ in the evening.”

Baby Archie is already an icon in the making. A royal insider revealed that Archie is “such a happy baby” that he “rarely cries.” The royal babe, “takes a keen interest in his surroundings and is already engaging and interacting with people. He loves to be entertained. And he isn’t a needy baby—he’ll happily go to Harry and Meghan’s friends without kicking up a fuss.”
