Music is very important to Meghan Markle. When she was running her now-shuttered lifestyle blog, The Tig, she spoke openly about having a morning wake up playlist which helped her start each day off on the right foot. When Markle and Prince Harry married in May 2018 –music was a central part of their wedding ceremony and reception.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had the Kingdom Gospel Choir perform at their big day –actor Idris Elba acted as the DJ at their wedding reception, and Markle’s favorite song “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston also played at various times during the evening festivities. Also —Elton John –a close family friend of the British Royal Family performed during the reception. Has the Duchess of Sussex reached out to the “Tiny Dancer” legend for an extra special favor?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting the birth of their first child, Baby Sussex in just a few short weeks. Already, the royal parents-to-be are looking forward to giving their bundle of joy the best life possible. Like Baby Sussex’s cousins –Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis –the little one will certainly be involved in a slew of activities.

The Sun is reporting that Markle has reached out to legendary musician Elton John to give Baby Sussex piano lessons when they get older. The royal insider explained, “Meghan and Harry adore Elton and loved him singing at their wedding. Meghan has been saying he’s the perfect person to teach their child the piano. He’s apparently said he’d love to. Music is hugely important to both Meghan and Elton, so who better?!”

Elton John was very close friends with Princess Diana

Elton John was extremely close to Prince Harry’s mother, Princess Diana whom he met at Prince Andrew’s 21st birthday party in 1981. In fact –the musician performed and the late princess’ funeral and has remained very close to Prince Harry over the years. He recalled meeting the red-headed prince for the first time saying,

I first met an extremely shy and sweet Prince Harry at a private lunch at Kensington Palace, given by his mother Princess Diana for Gianni Versace and me many years ago. What a joy it has been to see that young boy grow to inherit his mother’s warmth, sense of humor and courage to stand up and champion the causes he truly believes in.

Elton John loved performing at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding

To perform at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding, John canceled his Las Vegas performance. According to The Sun, The Rocket Man sang “Your Song, Circle of Life,” “I’m Still Standing” and “Tiny Dance.” He included the words “LA lady” as a nod to the duchess’ career.

Shortly after the event, the music legend gushed, “It was very, very wonderful to be there. To have a black gospel choir, a multiracial bride, a black cellist, who was wonderful, a preacher —it felt like a party, and it felt like progress had been made. Thank god, thank god.
