Meghan Markle Asked Her Friend To Introduce Her To A ‘Famous British Man’ Before Meeting Prince Harry
More details are emerging about the years leading up to Meghan Markle’s romance with Prince Harry. Fresh off the birth of Markle’s first child, the Duchess of Sussex’s former friend, Lizzie Cundy, just revealed that the Suits star asked to be introduced to a “famous British Man” a few years before she sparked up a romance with Harry.
Markle meets a famous British man
Cundy claims that she started a close friendship with Markle at a charity event in 2013. At the time, Markle asked the former model to hook her up with an English man. According to Express, Cundy thought Ashley Cole would make the perfect match for Markle, especially considering how he had just broken up with Cheryl.
Meghan Markle allegedly looked at a photo of Ashley and thought he was super cute. When the actress asked about his reputation, Cundy said she wouldn’t worry about it because she was only looking for some fun.
“We were having a girly chat and then she said, ‘Do you know any famous guys? I’m single and I really love English men,’” Cundy shared. “So I said, ‘We’ll go out and find you someone.”
It is unclear if Markle and Cole ever hooked up, but she did reportedly get together with X Factor star Matt Cardle prior to Harry. After she met Harry, Markle obviously pumped the brakes on everything else and the two quickly got serious.
As for Cundy, she says that Markle completely ghosted her in 2016, which is around the same time her relationship with Harry was heating up. Cundy believes that the royal family told Markle that she should cut ties with most of her friends in the media. Cundy has tried to reach out to Markle on multiple occasions but has not gotten any response.
Inside Meghan Markle’s tryst with Cardle
Before she was introduced to Harry, Markle was apparently determined to settle down with a British man. Inside sources claim that Markle got a hold of Cardle’s number months before she met Harry and asked if he wanted to go on a date. Cardle was reportedly very friendly to Markle and felt flattered that she reached out.
Around the same time, Cardle met Amber Hernaman, who quickly swept him off his feet. With his romance with Hernaman going strong, Cardle did not feel right about remaining in contact with Markle and opted to ghost her.
Fortunately, everything worked out for Meghan Markle when she met Harry in the summer of 2016. The former Suits star tied the knot with Harry in the spring of 2018. The couple recently welcomed their first child and moved to a new house near Windsor Castle. The pair announced the birth of their first son, Archie Harrison Windsor, on social media and could not be happier about starting a family together.
Markle has not commented on the reports surrounding her romantic life prior to Harry. Given how Kensington Palace is usually secretive about such things, it is extremely unlikely that she will address the reports.
Meghan Markle faces wedding anniversary backlash
Speaking of Markle’s wedding, she and Harry recently celebrated their first anniversary as husband and wife. The couple marked the occasion by sharing a slew of photos from their wedding day. The images were accompanied by a special note, thanking their social media followers for making their wedding an event to remember. Although the couple was clearly happy to share some photos from their big day, not everyone was pleased by the move.
Shortly after the post, one of the hosts of Good Morning Britain, Pier Morgan, slammed the pair for shamelessly promoting themselves. Morgan took issue with how Markle and Harry thanked fans for making their wedding special, despite the fact that none of them were invited to the exclusive event.
In fact, Morgan even challenged the couple to name one of their followers who contributed something to wedding. Morgan’s scathing comments come amid rumors that Queen Elizabeth warned Harry and Markle to stop undermining Prince William and Kate Middleton.
William and Middleton are set to become the next Prince and Princess of Wales once Charles becomes King of England. Elizabeth allegedly wants to ensure that William and Middleton do not lose popularity, which is why she is reportedly telling Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to tone things down.
