Why Is Meghan Markle’s Most Trusted Assistant Leaving After Baby Sussex’s Birth?

Meghan Markle has a ton of things on her plate. The Duchess of Sussex has just stepped out of the spotlight to begin her maternity leave, but she’s still extremely busy. Markle is due to give birth to Baby Sussex in late April or early May. However, before then — she and Prince Harry are moving from their 2-bedroom flat at Kensington Palace in London to their 10-bedroom estate, Frogmore House in Windsor.

In addition to getting settled in their new home —the duke and duchess just split their household away from Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton. With a ton of work and a baby on the way –Markle’s royal staff is in a frenzy to keep up. Unfortunately, the Duchess of Sussex is set to lose yet another royal staff member once Baby Sussex is born.

Why is Meghan Markle’s most trusted aide leaving after Baby Sussex’s birth?

Meghan Markle’s trusted aide and good friend –Amy Pickerill will exit the royal staff shortly after Baby Sussex’s birth, and it’s for a good reason. According to Entertainment Tonight, Pickerill’s exit is very amicable, and she is leaving because she wants to move abroad and pursue other opportunities..

Pickerill has been a member of the British Royal Family staff for some time. She started as a member of the press team before transferring to the position in the duchess‘ private office. During Pickerill’s time with Markle –the women have become extremely close. ET reports, “She has been at her side as a loyal aide through some of her most trying moments as stories swirled and the tabloids dubbing her “Duchess Difficult.” The source says the women have “become close friends, and they will see each other in the future.” One of the former Suits star and Pickerill’s biggest projects together was the duchess‘ charity cookbook, Together: Out Community Cookbook.

Why has Meghan Markle been accused of being difficult?

Though she was a famous actress who was used to the public spotlight, being a royal brings very different pressures. An insider told the Daily Mail, “Even though [Meghan] was a famous actress, she could still do what she wanted in the way of getting around freely, But in her current role she can’t go anywhere without her protection team, and that’s a massive constraining force on an individual like her.”

Though Markle might work at her own speed and walk to the beat of her own drum, she certainly isn’t difficult to work with or for. A royal insider told ET, “She has many loyal aides that enjoy working with her and are impressed by her commitment to humanitarian initiatives and her openness to learning from seasoned courtiers and Palace staff about royal protocol.”

Does Meghan Markle hate being royal?

Since she and Prince Harry got engaged in Oct. 2017 –Meghan Markle has put her best foot forward when it comes navigating royal life. Though she adores her new family and her charitable work –the duchess is still in the midst of an adjustment period.

Royal biographer Penny Junor believes that Markle is finding royal life a bit difficult. Junor told The Sun, “Clearly there is something going on here. I think life must be very difficult for Meghan. She’s had a completely different life, she didn’t really know the British royal family, how it operated and what her life would be like. She is clearly used to being her own woman, operating at her own hours and behaving the way she needs to, to get on in a very, very competitive world.”
