Meghan Markle is allegedly due in just two short months, which means the Duchess of Sussex is likely thinking more and more about her birth plan. And, rumor has it, she has taken some advice from her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. Is Meghan Markle considering the same birthing technique that the Duchess of Cambridge used to deliver all three of her children? Find out — plus other details about Meghan Markle’s birth plan — ahead.
Meghan Markle’s birth plan
As the Duchess of Sussex approaches the end of her first pregnancy journey, she has likely thought about where and how she will deliver Baby Sussex. Take a look at what Meghan Markle’s birth plan could entail, including why she might try the same birthing technique as her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
She’s thinking about using the same birthing technique that Kate Middleton used
When Kate Middleton delivered her babies, she relied on a technique called HypnoBirthing. And, now, Meghan Markle might do the same. The Duchess of Sussex has allegedly read up on the technique and is seriously considering doing the same.
Hypnobirthing is a special technique that requires a certain breathing practice, visualization, relaxation, and meditation.
She might not deliver at the St. Mary’s Hospital Lindo Wing
There’s a good chance the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might welcome their firstborn away from London. In what would be a break from tradition, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could choose to deliver their baby closer to their new home in Windsor, Frogmore Cottage. If that’s the case, they might choose The Princess Margaret Hospital, as it is a short six-minute drive from Windsor Castle.
In addition to giving birth at a hospital near her new Windsor home, Meghan Markle might also be considering a home birth.
She has a doula
Unlike other royal women, Meghan Markle has hired a doula to help her during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum transition. The doula has already visited her and Prince Harry’s home “multiple times,” helping to prepare the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for baby.
“Meghan is focused on calm and positive energy around the birth — she’s a big believer in that,” a source told Us Weekly of her potential reasons for hiring such expertise.
In true Hollywood fashion, Meghan Markle has also allegedly hired a celebrity acupuncturist to help prep her for delivery. The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly visited Ross Barr “to help her unwind and relax” before baby, says a Vanity Fair source. “It’s brilliant for the blood circulation and boosting blood flow to the uterus. She plans to use acupuncture right up to her due date,” the source added.
Her mother plans to help out after birth
Doria Ragland has plans for an extended stay in the United Kingdom to help her daughter and son-in-law get accustomed to life after baby. The royal mother-in-law already has her own room at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s newly renovated country home and might even help the Duchess of Sussex get back into her yoga practice once she’s cleared for exercise.
