Meghan Markle Has Major Plans for Her Birthday Celebration in LA
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex will celebrate her 39th birthday on Aug. 4. Though this is not a milestone age for Meghan, 2020 is certainly a milestone year for the former actor. In just under six months, the duchess has transformed her life into something completely different than it was last year.
For the past two years, Meghan had been a senior working member of the British royal family. Though the California-born duchess was optimistic about the role she could play when she initially wed Prince Harry, it was much more challenging than she expected.
The Duchess of Sussex was never truly embraced by the press or royal fans. Also, though the British royal family was nice enough to her, she could not find her footing in the very traditional firm. However, now that the duchess is living in LA, she is free to celebrate how she chooses.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry love to celebrate birthdays and holidays
Since early March 2020, after completing their final royal duties, the Sussexes have been living in LA in Tyler Perry’s $18 million Beverly Hills home. Though the duchess was thrilled with the possibility of being around her loved ones and friends, it was not a reunion that she expected.
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the pair were unable to have a welcome to LA party or to celebrate their son Archie’s first birthday with a big splashy party. However, because the couple loves to celebrate in a big way, we’re sure Meghan will do something for her big day.
Prince Harry certainly has something up his sleeve for his beloved wife. After all, while they were dating from 2016 to 2017, he bestowed the duchess was thoughtful gifts and presents.
The British royal family may snub Meghan Markle on her birthday
Unfortunately, everyone won’t be celebrating Meghan’s big day. As is tradition, on a royal’s birthday, the bells typically ring at Westminster Abbey. However, since Meghan has resigned as a senor working royal, she probably won’t receive this honor.
“I hear that Westminster Abbey will not ring its bells for Meghan’s birthday next month,” Daily Mail royal correspondent Richard Eden wrote. “To add insult to injury, it did ring them for the birthday of beleaguered Prince Andrew in February, even though he’d stepped down from royal duties.”
Prince Harry might not receive the honor either when his 36th birthday rolls around on Sept. 15.
Inside Meghan Markle’s 39th birthday plans
Despite not being honored in the U.K., it appears that Meghan has her own plans to celebrate her birthday. The Daily Mail is reporting that Meghan has been telling Prince Harry and her friends that she is feeling “cooped up” and she wants to head to Montecito, a community near Santa Barbara for her birthday.
Meghan will invite a few very close friends who will all receive COVID-19 tests prior to the gathering and the festivities.
“Whatever she ends up doing for her birthday, Meghan said it will be low-key,” a source explained. “She said she doesn’t want to come across as being careless and irresponsible.”
