She reportedly doesn’t think that royal protocol is fair

According to a report from RadarOnline.com, Markle is breaking royal tradition and “fighting for equality,” believing it isn’t fair that she has to “bow down,” an insider shared.

Markle reportedly isn’t on board with stodgy royal rules, as the source shared: “Meghan and Harry feel that the rules and regulations in connection with Royal protocol are antiquated to forward thinking Millennials.”

The insider added: “Meghan and Harry respect tradition but want the freedom to do their own work and promote their causes without being held back by any constraints.”

It has nothing to do with a feud

While it’s easy enough to draw conclusions about feuding among the royals being at the root of this fight, the insider noted: “This is the real point of contention and it has nothing to do with Meghan versus Kate or Harry versus William.”

The source added, “It’s not a competition to Meghan, it’s about working hard and delivering results and that is what she is laser focused on.”

As a new mom, Markle has been out of the spotlight, but when she returns to the public eye, the insider shared, “Expect her to make a huge comeback after her maternity leave ends. You will see her everywhere and she is already booked out through 2021.”

Prince Harry and Markle want freedom

Prince Harry and Markle’s recent departure from their joint charity with Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Royal Foundation, set the rumor mills spinning yet again over the reason behind the split. Naturally, plenty of rumors about feuding were part of the mix, but it was revealed recently that the Sussexes are really looking for some freedom to do things “exactly how they want” with their own projects.

A palace source told Harper’s Bazaar: “This allows the Sussexes to do things exactly how they want. Their operating style is very different from the Cambridges and so having their own space to think as big as they like, working on a global scale, is perfect for them.”

Yet another source added that their departure allows Prince Harry and Markle to explore their own charities and “this is their chance to stamp their own personality on their charitable work. Not only will their new foundation stand the test of time, but it will allow them to do some very ambitious things.”

The insider continued, “Their charity will provide them with an opportunity to create something that will be their defining work — and it’s entirely theirs.”

It’s expected that they will launch their charity by year-end, with Markle spending some of her maternity leave working on the project.

At the time of the announcement about the split from the charity, Kensington Palace noted: “These changes are designed to best complement the work and responsibilities of Their Royal Highnesses as they prepare for their future roles, and to better align their charitable activity with their new households.”
