Meghan Markle Has a Trick for the Perfect Steak

Turns out Meghan Markle has a pretty ingenious method for taking steak to the next level. Long before she married Prince Harry and became the Duchess of Sussex, she ran a blog called The Tig. The former senior member of the royal family used the platform to dish out all kinds of advice, from her favorite wines to various kitchen hacks. While her followers may think they know everything about the former Suits star, her tip for cooking amazing steak is one of her best-kept secrets.

How Meghan Markle takes her steak to the next level

There are hundreds of articles online telling people how to cook the perfect steak in the comfort of their own kitchen. But for Markle, the best way to spruce up a cut of meat is actually after it leaves the pan.

According to Pure Wow, Markle’s best advice for taking steak to the next level is adding some lemon juice to the finished product.

The acidity of the lemon is a great complement to the saltiness of the steak and will really cut through the grease. Better yet, you won’t even taste the lemon. Instead, it enhances the flavor and pulls everything together.

“Nobody tastes the lemon, but it really brings out the steak’s flavor,” Meghan Markle shared.

The lemon trick works for all kinds of steaks and will help bump things up a notch, even if the meat is slightly overcooked.

If you really want to impress guests, sub out the lemon juice with a lemon-herb combination, which will add even more delicious flavors to this dinner-time favorite.

Markle shares a lunch secret

Some of Markle’s best kitchen tips also apply to parents. In 2019, Markle shared one cool trick she uses to get kids more excited about fruit.

Taking to social media, Markle revealed that she likes to write inspirational words on banana peels before packing them in the lunch box. The former Suits star wrote things like “You are special!” and “You are brave!,” which would brighten up anyone’s day.

Meghan Markle showed off the idea while working with a British charity called One25. The organization works with women in the U.K. who deal with poverty, homelessness, and domestic violence.

Bananas are perfect for writing messages because the skin is thick enough to protect the fruit inside. If your child is not into bananas, you can always write a sweet note on the outside of a plastic bag.

What other hacks does Meghan Markle promote?

Steak and pasta aside, Markle offered plenty of hacks on her blog over the years. This includes grilling lettuce to spice things up.

In fact, one of Markle’s favorite dishes involves grilling lettuce. She incorporates the charred lettuce in a Caesar salad and adds shrimp to make it a little more hearty (which sounds very yummy).

Although grilling lettuce is a bit controversial for some fans, the leafy veggie is strong enough to withstand the heat without breaking down. Some varieties of lettuce you can grill include kale and radicchio.

Unfortunately, Meghan Markle shut down her blog once she joined the ranks of the royal family. But since she and Prince Harry are no longer senior members of the royal family, royal fans are hoping she brings it back in one way or another.
