Meghan Markle’s Mom Rushed to Canada to Be With Her After Megxit
Since Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry announced their intent to step down as working members of the British royal family, the duchess, in particular, has kept a very low profile. Though she has been snapped in candid photographs out and about on Vancouver Island in Canada — Markle has only made a couple of public appears at various charities in Canada.
In contrast, following the news of Megxit — Prince Harry remained in the U.K. for nearly two weeks while he sorted things out with his family. Though he and the duchess initially hoped they could remain part-time royals with progressive new roles, things didn’t exactly pan out that way.
When the prince remained in the U.K. to figure out the details of the split, the duchess flew to Canada to be with her infant son, Archie Harrison, and escape the vitriol of the British press and public.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want to have a peaceful life
Despite the fact that they put their best foot forward, over the last two years, the British press and public never warmed to Markle. From the racist and sexist things that were thrown at her, it was clear that the duchess and in turn, Prince Harry, were struggling under the weight of it all.
In fact, in an Oct. 2019 documentary, Harry and Meghan: An African Journey — Markle revealed that she was “not O.K.” Unfortunately, the royal family’s policy is to have a stiff upper lip and to remain non-reactive. However, the Sussexes were suffering by playing that game.
“The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back is not one I made lightly,” Prince Harry said in a speech during a reception for his charity, Sentebale. “It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven’t always got it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option.”
Meghan Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland supports the Sussexes decision
Though many people in the U.K. seem to have a lot of opinions about Megixt — people across the globe can clearly see how horrible the duchess was treated. In fact, Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland supports her completely.
“Doria says, ‘Meghan is strong and will always be okay,'” an insider told People. Apparently. Ragland is mostly obsessed with the fact that she gets to see more of her grandson. “She says her grandson is the cutest,” the source added.
Doria Ragland rushed to Meghan Markle’s side after Megxit
Markle literally fled the U.K. following news of the resignation to get back to her son. Baby Archie had remained in Canada with the duchess good friend, Jessica Mulroney. Her mother also met her there. “Meghan had friends and her mom around while Harry remained in England,” an insider told People. “She definitely gets a lot of her strength from her mother.”
Now that news is buzzing that the Sussexes are headed to Los Angeles for the summer, we’re sure Markle is excited to spend even more time with her mom.
