Has Meghan Markle’s Mom, Doria Ragland Moved to England Yet?

Meghan Markle is set to give birth any day now. The Duchess of Sussex is currently on maternity leave after her first whirlwind year as a member of the British Royal family. With a move from London to her new estate Frogmore Cottage in Windsor with her husband, Prince Harry –the duchess has had a few weeks to begin nesting while anxiously awaiting Baby Sussex’s arrival.

Though Markle already has a birth plan in place –which does not include taking those post-birth photographs on the steps of Lindo’s Hospital Wing, she is also determined to have one particular person at her side for support. In addition to her red-headed hubby, Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland is set to be at the duchess side as soon as she gives birth and for an unspecified amount of time after.

Did Meghan Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland move to England yet?

Meghan Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland lives in Los Angeles and is a yogi and social worker. However, when the duchess and the prince announced their engagement in Nov. 2017, Ragland quit her job at the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services clinic.

At the time, people speculated that Ragland was gearing up to move to the United Kingdom to be close to her daughter. Now, we know that Ragland will be at her daughter’s side when she gives birth. The soon-to-be grandma will also be on-hand to watch Baby Sussex grow and develop. A royal insider told Daily Mail, “Doria should be here for the birth and will be staying. But then she has to get back to her dogs and work.”

It looks like Ragland’s not about to give her life in Los Angeles up completely. Daily Mail reported that she will split her time between the City of Angles and Frogmore Cottage. Either way, the mother/daughter duo are extremely close. Ragland often sneaks into the United Kingdom to visit with the duke and duchess and apparently, both Markle and Prince Harry have been taking secret trips to L.A. to visit since they’ve been married.

Inside Meghan Markle’s maternity leave

Markle and Prince Harry have finally moved into their 10-bedroom mansion at Frogmore Cottage. For now, before Baby Sussex makes their grand debut, Markle will be taking the time to put the final touches on her new home. The duchess is also using this time to rest and bond with her mom. Mostly, Markle will be enjoying some much-needed peace and quiet.

A source told HELLO!, “Harry and Meghan will have plenty of privacy as Frogmore Cottage is located in the Home Park, which is off limits to the public. This means they can enjoy country walks, with Meghan able to push her buggy around the park without being snapped by photographers or members of the public.”

Meghan Markle’s birth plan

Meghan Markle already has a birth plan in mind. Though this is Markle’s first child, she and Prince Harry are reportedly considering a home birth instead of the traditional hospital birth at St. Mary’s Hospital Lindo Wing. Since the prince and the duchess now live at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor–about an hour away from London, getting Markle to St. Mary’s in the midst of labor would be too far of a trek.

The duchess‘ doula, Prince Harry, and Markle’s mother Doria Ragland will also be present in the labor and delivery room. Vanity Fair reports, “Doria plans to be around a lot when the baby arrives, and there are plans for her to have a dedicated space at their new home. She wants to be on hand to help Meghan and Harry with the baby. Doria will be involved, and if she’s involved she will be encouraging Meg to go for a natural birth.”
