These Are The Struggles Meghan Markle Will Most-Likely Face as a Mother
Meghan Markle is, without a doubt, ready for motherhood. Pregnancy alone has caused a tremendous amount of joy for the Duchess of Sussex, and she has allegedly told friends that this is “the happiest period” of her life. But, what will bringing a child up in the royal family really be like for Meghan?
Up ahead, we share some of the struggles the Duchess of Sussex will likely face as a royal parent.
Meghan Markle as a mother
It’s no surprise that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle grew up in very different environments. In many ways, their childhoods have contributed to their character and could potentially have an impact on who they are as parents.
Prince Harry is a lot like his mother, Princess Diana, who was warm, kinda, nurturing, and an all-around excellent parent who helped shape two young princes into thoughtful and compassionate leaders, philanthropists, and friends. Meghan Markle likely wants the same for her child(ren) — however, she could face some struggles along the way.
If you haven’t noticed, the Duchess of Sussex is a very orderly person. Although we haven’t exactly seen the inside of her sock drawer, we’re guessing it sparks a lot of joy. While that’s an excellent — read: inspiring — way to live, it might pose some inner turmoil for the mother-to-be.
Meghan Markle might choose to embrace the messiness of childhood, but the chaos could get the best of her. In this next chapter in her life, the Duchess of Sussex might struggle with the need for structure and order while raising rambunctious littles.
One of the biggest struggles the Duchess of Sussex could face as a mother is raising royals. Any child Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have will belong to a much bigger eco-system — aka, the royal family — which means the monarch could be more involved in raising their children than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might want.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles will likely allow Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to raise their babies how they see fit and trust that they understand the way of royal life. However, not everything will be up to them — especially when it comes to the infamous royal rules. The Duchess of Sussex — as with probably any parents — might struggle with this loss of control and fight between “monarch knows best” and “mother knows best.”
Fortunately for Meghan Markle, she has a very close relationship with both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles and will likely have some room to raise her children how she wants.
Prince Harry is a softy with a big heart — who will probably have a very hard time disciplining his children. That (most likely) leaves Meghan Markle in charge of disciplining her children. With her strength, the Duchess of Sussex could absolutely raise well-mannered children and discipline when needed. However, it might be a struggle for her to not always share the responsibilities with her husband.
