Meghan Markle or Kate Middleton: Which Duchess Is More Qualified for Royal Life?
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are two of the most sought after women in the entire world. Royal fans admire everything that they do, from their charity work to the way they parent their children. The popularity of the two duchesses is more than evident since whenever they make public appearances, thousands of people line up in the streets in hopes of getting a glimpse, a picture, or even to be lucky enough to receive a handshake or exchange pleasantries with Meghan or Kate.
As we all have heard, royal life can be difficult. The members of the royal family live in a world where practically everything that they say and do is closely watched and often criticized, and often times, important events in their lives become headline news.
Meghan and Kate have very little privacy, and they have to be perfectly poised and follow a set of strict rules at all times. While being married to a prince and being part of the royal family may seem like the ultimate fairy tale, it is anything but easy. So, which duchess is more qualified for royal life?
Kate had more time to get used to royal life than Meghan did
As Harper’s Bazaar can report, William and Kate met in a very common way just like many people do – at college. Back when they were both students at the University of Saint Andrews, Kate and William started off as friends, yet the prince began to see her in a different light after watching her in a charity fashion show.
Having dated for eight years before finally getting married, Kate had much more time to become accustomed to the royal way of life than Meghan did. After all, Meghan and Harry were only together for about two years before tying the knot, and for part of that time, they lived on different continents.
Meghan is used to being in front of the cameras
As the future queen, it is probably true that eyes are on Kate just a little more than Meghan. Before marrying Prince William, Kate was a “commoner,” having no ties to royalty at all. She grew up living a quiet, typical life with her close-knit family in the Village of Bucklebury in Berkshire, England.
While Meghan didn’t have a connection to the royal family either, she spent years as an actress, taking small roles in films and as a briefcase model on the game show Deal or No Deal. Her acting career really took off when she landed the role of Rachel Zane on the legal drama Suits, where, according to The Washington Post, she appeared for seven seasons.
Meghan’s background serves her well
Kate Middleton certainly carries out her royal duties in an excellent manner and more than exceeds everyone’s expectations. In fact, Us Weekly reports that she receives special training in order to prepare for her role as the future queen.
That is not to say that Meghan isn’t more qualified for royal life than many people may think. In college, she was a double major in theater and international relations, which definitely comes in handy for her newest role as the Duchess of Sussex. Meghan has been influencing people for years. As most fans are aware, she was a feminist and humanitarian long before she was introduced to Prince Harry, and continues to hold certain issues close to her heart.
As it turns out, she is much more than a beautiful and talented actress who was lucky enough to meet a prince. Meghan has been making the world a much better place for quite a long time.
