Are Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Planning An American Royal Tour?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry already have a number of royal tours under the belt. As a couple, they have traveled together on behalf of the British government to Fiji, Australia, Scotland and most recently to Morocco. Though their royal tour to Morocco will be the last trip before the duo welcomes Baby Sussex into the world –the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have already begun planning their next official royal tour. Will the royals be headed to America next?

Are Meghan Markle and Prince Harry planning an American royal tour?

Though they are set to go on maternity and paternity leave in just a couple of months, Markle and Prince Harry are already planning an American royal tour for the Fall of 2019. The royal newlyweds had planned on visiting the States in the Spring of 2019, but since Markle is expecting their first child, they’ve had to alter their plans a bit. Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl shared that the tour is definitely on for the fall and the duke and duchess are set to visit the U.S. and Markle’s adopted home, Canada.  Though the exact locations of the royal tour have yet to be announced, an insider told US Weekly, “They are thinking [about visiting] New York, Washington, D.C., and California. They’re working to finalize locations and venues.”

When will Meghan Markle and Prince Harry arrive in the United States?

Markle was most recently in the U.S. in mid-February for her baby shower which was held in New York City. Though she will be headed back across the pond in just a few months, no dates have been nailed down just yet. Nicholl noted that the dates will be dependent on the Duchess of Sussex’s due date. As we know, the royals are keeping it super tight-lipped about when the former actress is due, but we’re going to assume she will give birth in either April or May.

Will Meghan Markle and Prince Harry bring Baby Sussex on their American Royal tour?

Baby Sussex will be no more than six months old during the American Royal Tour so, we can expect to see the tiny tot with his or her parents when they arrive in North America. Nicholl revealed that the Sussexes are keen to visit the U.S. and Canada “as a family.” We do know that since the trip is already on the couple’s calendar, Markle will be taking a shorter maternity leave than most royal women have in the past. A source told Nicholl that the duchess is planning to work “right up to her due date because she feels fit and well and wants to continue working as long as possible.”

Though we’re sure Markle and Prince Harry are interviewing nannies for their little one already, we might also see Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland with them on their American tour. After all, it has been rumored that Markle’s mama is moving from Los Angeles to be with her daughter and son-in-law in their new home, Frogmore House as Markle gets closer to her due date.
