Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Have Plans for Their Sussex Royal Instagram Account, Expert Claims
When Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex launched their Instagram in 2019, there was a ton of excitement. Almost immediately, the couple got millions of followers. During their time in the royal fold, they used the account to highlight their charitable endeavors and their royal tours and events.
Unfortunately, in addition to all of the positivity that they garnered, the Sussex Royal account also got a ton of trolling and nasty comments. When the Sussexes resigned from their roles as senior working royals they turned off all of the comments on their account.
Since their final royal engagements in March 2020, their Instagram has remained inactive. However, one royal expert believe he knows why the duke and the duchess have no plans on deleting the platform.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Sussex Royal Instagram account is inactive
With Megxit, the Sussexes wanted tighter control of their image. The royal family has a “stiff upper lip policy” which means they do not comment on rumors. Now that the Sussexes have their own representatives, they’ve already been speaking out against false claims.
Trolls ran rampant on their social media account calling Meghan, in particular, every name in the book. In a comment on one of the couple’s last posts, one person wrote, “She seduced him. She brainwashed him. She controlled him. She drove him out of his mind. He no longer has an identity of his own. She turned him into a carbon copy of herself. She betrayed him and the whole Royal Family.”
In their final Instagram post, the Sussexes announced that they would be stepping away from the platform, for now. “Though they will remain inactive, both the Instagram account and website will remain in existence online for the foreseeable future,” a spokesperson for the couple stated.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Instagram account is worth a ton of money
Despite their absence, the Sussexes have retained 10.9 million Instagram followers, which is no small feat. As a result, their account is extremely lucrative.
According to the influencer marketing platform Inzpire.me and The Sun, “The Sussexes Instagram account could rake in as much as £85,271.19 (that’s approximately $109,808) for each sponsored post.”
Since the pair has not made any money post Megxit, this could be a way for them to begin bringing in the dough addition to ayn forthcoming speaking engagements they may have.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have plans for their Instagram account
The Sussexes might be holding on to their Sussex Royal Instagram for more than a keepsake. “If Harry and Meghan still have authority over the Instagram account, I suspect that Harry and Meghan will pivot the Sussex Royal account to Archewell when the non-profit is ready for its public reveal,” celebrity brand strategist Phil Pallen told Femail. “On social media, digital real estate is everything. The Sussex Royal Instagram account is the digital equivalent of waterfront real estate.
The Sussexes are planning to launch their new charitable endeavor, Archewell Foundation in 2021. Archewell could consist of everything from movies to podcasts, clothing to charitable services, and even online seminars, lectures, and retreats.
