Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Left Archie in Canada When They Went Back to London to Announce Their Resignation

In the wake of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announcing their resignation as senior members of the Brtish royal family, things are a lot more intense behind the scenes then we would have ever expected.

Many royal fans knew that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were struggling to find their footing as senior royals. Ever since their wedding — the Duchess of Sussex has been bullied and harassed. The British media has attacked her on all accounts, calling her every sexist and racist thing they could think of.

Therefore, after taking some time away from their royal duties, the duo has decided to do what’s best for them — become financially independent and stepping away from royal life.

This is why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have resigned from royal life

Since his mother’s tragic death in 1997 — Prince Harry has openly resented the British press. Now, the prince has watched the press tournament his wife, in the same way. It has all become too much. Examining their options, the pair have decided to announce their resignation as senior royal family members. The Sussexes released a statement saying,

After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support.” – The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family are horrified by the Sussexes’ decision

It looks like the duke and duchess did not consult with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles or Prince William prior to publically announcing their resignation. Now the royals are scrambling to save face and come up with a plan.

Shortly after Markle and Prince Harry made their announcement, Buckingham Place released a rather terse statement of their own saying, “Discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand the desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through.”

Things are incredibly fraught right now at Buckingham Palace. “There is fury over how they’ve done this without any thought for the implications for the institution,” a source told The Sun. “The queen is deeply upset. The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge are incandescent with rage. Courtiers can’t believe it. There are so many unanswered questions but they’ve just up and done it without a thought for anyone else. The plan was there to discuss it and work out a way that works for everyone in the family.”

Archie is still in Canada

The duke and duchess obviously planned this exit meticulously. So much so that they left their son, Archie Harrison in Canada in case things got extremely tense. People is reporting that the 8-month old remained in Canada in the care of Markle’s best friend, Jessica Mulroney, who has three children of her own. The pair are set to return to Canada in the coming days.

The little one is apparent, enamored with the scenic country. During their visit to Canada House, the duchess explained, “Just to be able to take in the warmth that we experienced from the people but also just to walk around and just see the beauty of Canada. To see Archie go ‘ahhh’ when you walk by and just see how stunning it is, so it meant a lot to us.”

We’re glad the Sussexes are doing what’s best for them.
