Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Just as Popular as the Ever Were, Source Explains

When Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex announced they were going to be exiting the British royal family, fans and experts were startled. The pair have already launched their Sussex Royal Foundation which outlined the direction of their future work.

Megxit meant that the royal couple would be forced to regroup and switch directions. Outside of The Firm, the Sussexes would be expected to finance their own lavish lifestyle while upholding some of the traditions and values of Queen Elizabeth II and the royals.

There was a ton of discussion about Meghan and Prince Harry losing a great deal of relevancy and popularity outside of the royal family. However, one royal expert believes that the duo has only grown in popularity.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle need to define themselves outside of the royal family

Megxit is unprecedented for the royal family. For decades the press and public have been used to seeing royals live one way. However, the Sussexes have proved that you don’t necessarily need to adhere to tradition in order to make a difference in the world.

As the pair figure out their new lives in LA, they are going to need to set themselves apart from what Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge are doing back in the U.K.

“The couple’s future isn’t certain,” reporter Caitlin Flanagan explained to The Atlantic. “They are hugely appealing and glamorous. Everyone in Hollywood is eager to host them. The first few years of this plan are going to be heady. But — as Harry has often said — as soon as William’s three children become old enough to emerge as individual figures, the klieg lights will immediately turn to them. He is in a rush to make his mark and seems to treat life as a race, too.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have outlined their next moves

Meghan and Prince Harry have already shared that they are planning to launch their Archewell Foundation. However, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement have taken precedence at this time.

Still, that doesn’t mean the couple isn’t hard at work getting ready for their foundation’s launch. An insider told Town & Country,

They are hands-on, working nonstop on the development of Archewell—their new nonprofit organization—and it’s giving them a lot of energy. They want to see positive and substantive change happen in this world, and they want to lift up the voices and platforms of dynamic and diverse leaders of all kinds who are already making that change a reality. They want to focus on supporting and strengthening community. In a lot of ways, what people have been seeing is Archewell already in motion. And there’s a lot to come.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still extremely popular

Despite whispers that the Sussexes’ popularity has waned during their time in LA, they are still commanding the spotlight, but on their own terms.

“The couple and their work has not diminished since they stepped back as working royals, Town & Country reports. “Though there is a common refrain from critics on social media that they are less relevant or interesting now that they are no longer part of the royal machinery, that would seem at odds with the fact that they still generate as much debate and as many stories as they ever did.”

If the Sussexes are able to thrive on their new journey, they will set an example for a new generation of royals.
