This Is How Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Will Rebuild Their Reputation, Insider Says

What Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex have done is unprecedented for modern royals. Though people like the late Princess Margaret, Princess Diana, and even Sarah, Duchess of York has spoken openly about the pitfalls of royal life, all three women remained in their positions.

After two years the Sussexes decided they could not continue to endure. Though many people were thrilled when Prince Harry and Meghan announce their engagement, things quickly soured. Meghan was used to controlling her own schedule and narrative which quickly clashed with the Buckingham and Kensington Palace aides.

Instead, the duchess was given horrible nicknames and lambasted in the press. Furthermore, any ideas the Sussexes had were put on the backburner in favor of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. In the end, the Sussexes decided to leave the royal family. Now, they are looking to heal the rift between themselves and the people of the U.K.

This is why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the British royal family

It can be terribly difficult to live your life in the spotlight. This was especially challenging for Meghan who could not get used to the royal family’s stiff upper lip policy that prompted her to ignore lies and untruths told about her.

Further upsetting to the Sussex was that the royal family apparently refused to come to their aid when they needed them most. In Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie’s best-selling book, Finding Freedom, the pair wrote,

[Prince Harry] felt at once used for their popularity, hounded by the press because of the public’s fascination with this new breed of royal couple, and disparaged back within the institution’s walls.

The Sussexes are not in good standing in the U.K. and with royal fans

Following her marraige to the prince, Meghan was being called everything to a gold digger to “duchess difficult” in the U.K. press. The disdain toward her only spread following Megxit.

For his part, Prince Harry continues to have a strained relationship with his older brother Prince William, and his grandfather, Prince Philip feels as if he ran off to Hollywood to become a coincided celebrity.

News of the Sussexes’ Netflix deal and the book, Finding Freedom has not helped things. “The highlighting of what Harry and Meghan perceive as slights by courtiers, or even by William and Kate, are not likely to gain them much sympathy with the public at this desperately difficult time,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams revealed to  Express. following Finding Freedom’s publishing.
